Dorothy Farrell: congratulations Faye - wonderful news. -
Drew Delaney: So glad to see you saw my post. Just an old one, but wanted to let everyone know of my tragedy. It will be tough without the internet and I don't even have a phone right now. Wish I would have just left to go to England when I had a place to go and time. Hope the offer is still on. Leaving Fanstory is not good for me right now. I just paid for a two year subscription, and you won't even be here. So sad right now!

Congrats on your book of poetry. I hope we will be able to connect somehow. My e-mail doesn't work right now either, but it is writer7@mymts.net. I hope to get it up and running even though I don't have the internet handy for the following six months or so. My house burnt down from an electrical problem. I could have gone with it. Don't know how I got out. Just the hand of God I'm sure. -
Jesse James Doty: I have very little money to buy a book, but I want to get ahold of yours. I am glad FS helped you hone your skills as a poet. That gives me hope. I would like to stay in touch with you by email. My address is jessejamesdoty@gmail.com.
Thanks for your integrity and honesty. Good luck.
    Peace, Jesse James

Margaret Snowdon: Congratulations on your book, Faye - I love the cover. God bless. Margaret -
    awsome123: Thank you -
awsome123: Thank you fo sharing with me.

This is Byrondontyouknow, I Wrote a children's story "Angelo: Coming Home, that concerns the rescue of a little piglet I am in the process of publishing Angelo and I would like to use your comments on the back cover.
"Excellent It's a lovely story, brought tears to my eyes at the joy of the pig being adopted by this lovely man. You evoke such pathos by your words. Children will love it. Comment Written 19-Sep-2015 by Nosha17"
    Regards, Ron Cimbala, rcimbala@gmail.com -

Nosha17: Rather sad that this site has declined in moral and spiritual values since I achieved my third place ranking last year. It no longer abides only by the rules of achievement and quality of writing, but also on the ability to pay your way to the top. Achieving the ranking as number three poet after 12 months of being a member, was very satisfying, but it has absolutely no value in the real world.
I am a great believer in fair play. Favouritism has no place in the running of any organisation. It sickens me to see how favouritism is so rife on this site. The determining factor of a good writer is how well read their poetry or prose will be amongst the general population. Those writers whose writing is excellent-Eric1, Nancy Davies, amongst others belong in the top five but they have not been able to afford to stay up there because of the dollar bill. I guess, but I am too modest to even say it, I do, too. But I am more interested in seeing standards maintained-if standards fall, the whole thing becomes worthless.
--Turtle.: I think the foundation of the rankings accuracy depends on the mass of members rating more than five and six stars. Very few do, because ... lots of reasons. There lies the true stumble of quality. If everyone's work is enjoyable and amazing without any need of work, then the only way to sort from there is quantity. The members as a mass of complacency pretty much label everything 5 stars. If allowed, they'd label most everything 6 stars.

I'd made this determination ... about 5 years ago. So the rules for achievement and quality have kinda been the same here from my understanding. I've never thought, those at the top don't belong at the top... so much as, those at the top have the time, energy, and determination to collect a lot of funds, and a prolific consistency to offer in order to collect a lot of 5 and 6 stars, and have probably by means of this work, have gotten a lot of fans.

I don't pay much mind to the rankings. -
Michaelk: Fanstory ranking are nice, but they won't get you published. I agree that the almighty funny money rules the rules. That's because management wants it that way. I would love to see the money component go away altogether. But that will never happen. Just like many of the other changes that are needed on this once great site will never happen, because of management. -
--Turtle.: I don't know... I think the site's pretty dang cool, overall. Any foundation breaks down when abused. All I'm wondering is how much is the issue just with the foundation, and how much is it how we all play on that foundation, a foundation that's supporting mass extremes of needs and levels. Imagine having a bunch of voices demanding reactions in opposite directions. Always in a gonna lose position, no matter what's done, and never going to make everyone happen. Sometimes the best direction to go, in certain cases, is stay still and take a tiny little baby step. -
Carole Rosa: Faye, So well put! I'm proud to know you via FanStory. Thank you for mentioning Nancy Davis. Her computer is in need of repair and she is such a wonderful and talented poet. She, as well as you, both belong in the top five positions. Smiles to you. Carole -
Nosha17: Thank you, Carole for your wonderful words of support. Great to know a real lady. Best wishes to you, Faye -
Nosha17: Thank you, Michael, glad you agree with me. Most people are happy to go with the crowd, forgetting that ethics and principles are an inherent component of a decent society-without those it is all worthless. Faye -
Spitfire: It boggles my mind the grade school quality of some poems that win the prompts. Give any one on the site less than a five and they act as if it's a death sentence. I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel the favoritism on the site. As for those who post two a day, it shows in the quality, I hope. There are some fantastic prose writers on the site, but they don't rank high because reviewers prefer poetry. IMO. A poem seems easier and faster to review than a fiction or non-fiction piece. I've made a decision not to review something I really don't like no matter how much it pays. -
Nosha17: Thank you, Spitfire, I am glad you agree with me, people will go to any lengths to get to the top, quality is not uppermost in their minds. Posting multiple poems a day is a reflection of greed and how money plays such a part in this greed-filled society. I agree with you about the prose, I actually love to read the prose, if it is good, and because I like to give everyone a chance. Some of the poems that only offer 20 cents are often far superior to those offering a dollar. But because of the current system, people have to earn reviewing dollars to have a chance of their poem being read. Pretty sad. Favouritism is so distasteful, main reason I never bother with contests. I am with you, I only review honestly. I wish more people would see the light. -

Nosha17: I am so excited, I just heard that my poetry book with 65 of my poems will be out within a month. The Publisher took so long, nine months already. It has five sections to suit everyone's tastes-with a few children's poems, too. As soon as I have the link I will post it here.

Nosha17: This is the poem Dr Dip wrote to honour me, I am very flattered. It is still posted.

"Ode to Nosha 17" by DR DIP

ODE TO NOSHA

da da di dum
da dum di da
da da da dum
di da

I hear my Nosha in the Breeze
Her poetry so sweet and familiar
She writes in rhyme to always please
Her words are never peculiar

She has a style we call in rhyme
ABAB is the one she prefers
She tends to use it all the time
The style is predictably hers

I love the way she writes in rhyme
A soft spot to my heart
It is a rhyme scheme so sublime
The rhythm's there from the start

She writes of places I've never been
In English country towns
Every poem, a beautiful scene
It certainly removes any frowns

So I leave her with this little post
I think she already knows
That she's one poet, I love the most
I suppose that really shows

Oh thankyou Faye, you make my day
You are such a wonderful poet
A fan story favourite with many hey!
But I think you already know it!

To Faye from a fan

Author Notes
This is my tribute poem to a poet on fan story who writes sublime ABAB rhyme and is a favourite amongst many here.
She is a wonderful poet who writes in my favourite style ABAB rhyme I am in awe of her beautiful, descriptive verses of her home land of England

Nosha17: This is an update about my book. Another publisher wants my manuscript now, too. I will probably have two books, one with about 65 poems and then one with a smaller collection. The theme will be Nature, Travel and History for adults. I am so busy writing and getting them ready, I hardly have time to eat or breathe. Thank you again to everyone who congratulated me here. -

Nosha17: My first poetry book, "Anthology of Stories in Rhyme" is a collection of animal and children's poems and was published last year. I will have a collection of poems for adults ready in the next few months.
mrskristinball: Congratulations! I'd like to read some of your poetry. Could you share a poem or two from your children's poetry anthology? -
    storyman29: HI Nosha17

Thanks for your read and suggestions. I expect to go over the dialogue and find out if I agree with all of them to make edits.

This plot is winding down, but there is so much more action and surprises ahead to possibly capture you interest.

    All the best - storyman29 -
    storyman29: HI Nosha17

From here to the final page with the suspense, action and emotions will continue to build.

    All the best - storyman29 -
Selina Stambi: Dropping in to say hello - welcome to Fanstory, Nosha. Going to check out the children's poetry! :) -
Nosha17: Still trying to negotiate my way around the site, I didn't realise people left comments here, too. Sorry, I didn't acknowledge. I wanted to thank everyone here who has given me such superb reviews, I am very honoured and encouraged. I wanted to ask anyone who loves poetry, and particularly 'Home Thoughts from Abroad' by Robert Browning, there is a wonderful singer who unfortunately died quite young; his name is Clifford T. Ward. His Home Thoughts from Abroad song is exquisite and is purported to be the greatest love song of all times! -
Erik McGinley: Thank you so much for such a complimentary review. (You obviously know how to dissect literature so I feel very pleased :D)

I hope you also found the story fun and enjoyable to read as well as well written.

I am still trying to work out ho to add my on picture though - a picture for the story might be even more problematic ;) -
Nosha17: Sorry to be so long in replying, I don't look at my profile page too often! Hope you managed to add pictures now. Happy New Year, Faye -
Deniz22: Congratulations for winning the "Animal Opinions" prompt contest! Well done. -
Nosha17: Thank you very much for your congratulations, you are very kind. I feel very honoured to have support and know that people care. Faye -

    CONGRATULATIONS! -

Nosha17: I am a published poet and will have my second collection for adults ready in a few months. I am also a professional proof reader/copy editor/translator; if anyone needs anything edited I am very willing and able!
    kingskid: Hi there,
Thanks so very much again for commenting. Must be of the Lord that I decided to send Harry's story in, as a year ago I put it on another website. An editor contacted me and to cut a long sad story short, took me for quite an expensive ride, asking me to do numerous rewrites which I did, then turned around and told me she never really liked the story and was sorry she had got involved.
I have only just regained my confidence in my ability to write and decided to give Harry another go. As a matter of interest the kids loved it and want another:)
    Thanks again.
