A. Louise Robertson: I was so excited to find out that Thank You, Charlie won this contest. I love FanStory because I always enjoy reading very generous reviews and honest criticism that my co-writers share with me after reading my work. But, here I have to express my gratitude not only for the great and no so great reviews, but for the support of being voted on by my peers. Thank you authors, poets, writers of all kind - oh, and I'd better not forget, "Thank you, Charlie." |

A. Louise Robertson: I was thrilled this morning when I read that the poem I wrote for the Father's Day contest had received All Time Best Status recognition. (Fathers Day, My Boy) The poem is a tribute to the hard work and caring concern my son extends to his family each and every day. As the oldest of my four children, he has set a wonderful example of good fatherhood, despite the fact that he did not have a dad who was there for him. Our family is blessed with this man and I wanted him to know that what he does is seen and appreciated. Fathers Day is the time for that. |

A. Louise Robertson: I have faith that mankind can come out ahead after our current problems - racial injustice can be healed and we can learn to treat each other as equals. The virus can be cured and a vaccine will be developed. My faith assures me that if we do the Will of God we can be better people and be a healthy society. But, it has to be a universal effort. I am praying every day that God sends us the Grace to bring about the change. |

A. Louise Robertson: During the seclusion of the pandemic isolation, I am especially grateful for FanStory. Not only do I have the opportunity to write (which I have more time for than ever before) - but because of the community here. There are so many creative people "tuning" in to each other and supporting each other in their writing endeavors. I am so glad I joined this group and I want to say thank you for all of the writing contests and challenges. I may not be able to go out of the house, but I can go anywhere I want with my pen in my hand! |

A. Louise Robertson: I have written poetry all my life and find that it helps me express my thoughts more clearly than in any other way. As a child I was fortunate to live in a household where poetry and books were appreciated. My father wrote very beautiful verse. One of the love poems he wrote for my mother was published in the Stars and Stripes during World War II. On Sunday evenings after dinner, he would read to the family from his favorite book of poems. Now that I am a grandmother I enjoy writing more than ever. Although I have written and published novels, I find that going back to poetry really make me happy, to me it is the ultimate way to disclose what I feel. I am thankful for the opportunity to share my words here. |
