the13thpoet: I just want to take the time to thank all those who read and reviewed my story ABC's of fear. I have been trying to tell that story for years and I it was finally time to get it off my chest and hopefully out of my mind.
I'm sure it is riddled with grammatical errors and typos as I was in a rush to post it cause I was at work. I plan on editing it and reposting soon.
Thank you all of you, my FanStory family. You have not only been an outlet for me and so many others, but a source of inspiration.
The talent and support here is priceless.

Love the13thpoet aka RoddyJ.
Sarkems: I thought it was great. -

the13thpoet: Though the majority of my poetry rhymes I don't tend to follow any particular structure or pattern, I write purely to express myself and use it as therapeutic relief of the stresses of the world. In fact, before this site I was totally ignorant and unaware to all the different forms and styles of poetry or that there was even this big of an interest in it and I have been writing for nearly 30 years. To me writing is the ultimate form of expression and as long as you aren't hurting anyone, then there is no right or wrong....there's just WRITE...!(see what I did there? lol :) ) Thank you for taking the time to read my work. In this world the time we have is fleeting so thank you for any of your precious time you gave to me. Always appreciated. the13thpoet
mrsmajor: I enjoy using the traditional forms in my poetry and I also use Free Verse whenever it seems best.
I also believe when people enjoy using the traditional forms, it's a good thing to be able to do so, correctly...I've been writing for more than 50 years, going back to grade school, and I've been on this site for more than 14 years..its been a pleasure too...,one thing that's good for all of us, is this site allows us to write and express ourselves, whether it be in traditional forms, Free verse, or however way one chooses
to create their poetry...I wish You well... -
jsalslamher: I love what you say here. I too have been writing for over 30 years and have used writing the same way. It has hrlped me as well through the years and I have a very similar view on writing poetry and what it is, does and means to and for me. Beautiful to see a man with such a open heart and vision. Take care! -

the13thpoet: Hello fellow writer, thank you for checking out my profile and possibly some of my works. If you like any of it, please become a fan or better yet you can check out my new book on Amazon called From the Mind of a poet.

https://www.amazon.com/the13thpoet/e/B07T253DLQ/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1

I really appreciate this site. I have read a lot of great poems and stories and chatted with some very good writers.
    celtic52: I agree wholeheartedly -

the13thpoet: I've been expressing myself through the form of poetry and writing for nearly 30 years. Just had the nerve to put myself out there. I believe that writing is one of the ultimate forms of expression and a healthy release. If you come across one of my reviews please know that it is just my opinion. I appreciate and respect any form of written expression, my opinion is just that my opinion. People's opinions should never be takin personally but only as constructive criticisms. As long as it is peaceful there is no right and wrong when it comes to your expression. Never let anyone stifle your expressions, feelings, or voice. Keep writing, Keep sharing. Keep laughing. Keep loving.

Brenda Henderson : I shared your poem "Black Man's Plight" with a friend of mine and we are in agreement that it needs a much larger forum. I would like to hear it recited on the House of Representatives floor especially now that they are pursuing dialogue regarding reparations. It is very possible to make that happen. All you need is a sitting Congressman to introduce, recognize and yield the floor to you. Tell me Mr. Smith, are you willing to go to Washington? Ari Melber (MSNBC) would probably love to have you on his show as I'm sure Trevor Noah or Lawrence O'Donnell would as well. Be the light! -
