Here?s some of background for those curious why I?m here at Fan Story. I was a librarian for twenty-five years, including as a public library director, librarian for a major newspaper morgue, and a university reference librarian.

Earning money had precedence over being a poet.

After leaving the library field, I was a copy editor, reporter and award-winning feature writer for a weekly newspaper in Colorado. I also wrote and self-published a cooking newsletter. This was in the era before digital publishing, and the little publication earned a surprising profit while I produced it and, after three years, when I sold it.

Following a move to another state, I wrote corporate newsletters and began freelancing non-fiction magazine articles. I enjoyed moderate success with natural science articles for children?s magazines. I am especially proud of those sales since kiddie lit was (and likely still is) one of the most competitive fields for writers...(Also low-paying).

For the past five years before retirement, I was the marketing and public relations staff writer for a regional community college here in Arizona.

Now, with Social Security as a safety net, I can indulge my long term passion for writing poetry.

Sorry, no picture. My computer crashed and I am writing on a refurbished Dell using LibreOffice.
