    karenina: Congratulations! -
JanPerry: Awesome, so unexpected too! -

JanPerry: The difference in the spelling of "learnt" and "learned". I use the English/British version of learnt. I've had many others say it is spelt learned, but the dictionary says both spellings are correct. I am Australian, we often use the British spelling of words. Please understand this difference.
giraffmang: I'm with you on this one, my friend. -
LisaMay: It's about time others learnt this is an international site. We from downunder have to accept Mom instead of Mum, ass instead of arse etc. -
    K. Lang-Slattery: I totally agree that either spelling should be accepted. Though an North American from the US, I use English spellings when I'm writing a story that takes place in England. -
JanPerry: Thanks for all these replies. -

FanStory wrote to JanPerry: Be nice to others finished second in the contest "Habits."

FanStory wrote to JanPerry: Rainfall finished third in the contest "Repetition Poem"
    JanPerry: Lucky me -

JanPerry: Omg I just did a book review and ten people turned up. Good for a small town.
GinnieD: That is good for a small town. Good for you! Have fun with your book reviews. Interesting way to meet new people, too. -
JanPerry: Yeah, it spun me out a little, with the questions. Thank you GinnieD. -

JanPerry: I must stop writing while lying on my bed. It comes out all wrong.
Dean Kuch: Yeah, my writing always comes out sorta flat when I do the same thing, Jan.
    Heh-heh-heh... -
    JanPerry: Yes. Thanks mate -

JanPerry: Hi. Firstly and foremost I try to correct spelling, then word usage in all of my reviews. Sorry for any confusion about my methods. Jan.

FanStory wrote to JanPerry: A shaky start finished second in the contest "My First Job"
JanPerry: Lucky me and totally unexpected. Thanks. -

JanPerry: I'm sick and tired of being reminded of death every single day, on the news and programs on television. Celebrate life and what you have. Stop all this moaning about death.
    Dean Kuch:
    Morning
    by Jan Perry

    Early morning starts my day
As the call of nature makes it's way into my heart
I look for you but you have left me again
Your shirt tails hang, your coat lies in a heap
Where did you go to this time as I sleep?

I look for your trail, a dish, a sock left there but once again you elude me.
    It isn't fair.

As time moves on I realise you are gone for good.
No one can fill the cavern which is my soul.
    Emptiness waits.

Each day brings more problems, new challenges
    I must commit to.

Your leaving has left an empty shelf of sighs,
    where laughter once rang true.

We all face the inevitability of death one day, Jan. And we all should feel free to write about those feelings too...even you. -
Jannypan (Jan) : Easy, don't read them. -
JanPerry: Thanks Dean. That's a good reminder and I'll keep it in mind. I have conveyed sadness in "Morning". However, I find death both morbid and terrifying, so I try not to approach the subject. -

JanPerry: I still have a lot to learn about writing and poetry.
mrsmajor: Me Too...its all a learning experience that doesn't end...but its also something I greatly enjoy.. -

JanPerry: fanstory: it's cheap, it's affordable, it's almost free!

FanStory wrote to JanPerry: Tragic ending finished first in the contest "Joan D'arc"
    Irish Rain: Congratulations!! -
JanPerry: Thank you Irish Rain. -

JanPerry: So sorry folks. I'm having trouble with my auto corrrrector.
JanPerry: I'd run outta data actually -

JanPerry: What if we had "Peace Day" for one day of the year. No arguments, no bullying allowed. No wars allowed ever....

Oh Jan, dream on!
Jannypan (Jan) : No one could decide what day--they would argue, fuss, & fight over which one. -
DR DIP: why can't we make it every day?
    -
JanPerry: Oh jannypan, you're too funny!
    Heheh -
TAB_that's me: I would love it! I agree with Dip, but that is too big of dream... -

JanPerry: Jerry Lewis died 20th August 2017. So sad.
damommy: Sorry to hear that, although I wasn't a big fan of his. -
JanPerry: I fully loved Jerry Lewis and saw him in concert. -

FanStory wrote to JanPerry: The meeting from HELL finished second in the contest "Dating Disasters"

    Linda Engel: Go Jan!!!!!! -
    JanPerry: Thanks guys [blushing]!! -

JanPerry: RU having fun on here?
Just asking.
    giraffmang: Nope -
robyn corum: on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 6. Thanks for asking! -
michaelcahill: I've had a few wee libations. I'd give it a fifth. -

JanPerry: My first photo travel book titled "New York, New York" is for sale and on pdf for anyone who likes buildings in New York. Google the name, it comes up!

ok [buy buy buy!] haha
I am Cat: Nice! Congrats! -
Gloria ....: Start spreading the news ... Oh yea, that is precisely what you are doing. Sounds good Jan. :)) -

JanPerry: I don't want to be married - It receives bad reviews!

JanPerry: A homonym has the same sound or spelling meaning different things.
eg. write and right. There, they're and their. Isn't that interesting?
JanPerry: homonym and pun are rather much the same.
Does anyone remember other words where they have several meanings, and can be used in several ways? -
