jpduck: I'm having a problem with my reviewing. I have discovered that I cannot highlight any text on any posting received. This, of course, means I cannot copy/paste to the notes window, which, in turn, means that any reviewing is completely impractical. Everything was fine yesterday. Has anybody else out there found the same problem?

Adrian
    F. Wehr3: I noticed the same thing this morning. Which makes discussing a sentence with a writer that much harder. -
jpduck: That's interesting to know. What web browser do you use? It might conceiveably be a browser problem. When I reported the issue to Tom he said he could not replicate it at his end.

    Adrian -
    F. Wehr3: Adrian, I use Google chrome.

    Russell -
    F. Wehr3: Hey, Adrian. A solution was posted in the forum. -
Realist101: I still have poetry chests only when I try to post prose too. There is something wrong in the site's system. I don't know what to do if Tom can't find or fix these things. :/ -
I am Cat: actually, you can't SEE it highlight, but it still does. Everything that I've 'highlighted' has copied nicely into the box anyway. Whether it looks like it's going to or not, it does. ;) -

jpduck: I am feeling a little battered after receiving a small minority of the reviews for 'Letter to Atheists' from the Belligerent Bible Belt. The sheer arrogance of one of them simply passes belief.
What is it with this guys and girls that they feel compelled to impose their beliefs imperiously on others, not even thinking of enquiring, first, if we are remotely interested in being thus assaulted?
I don't really know how this 'Profile Thoughts' column works. Perhaps I am simply bleating in the void; or maybe I will now be ceremoniously drummed out of FS.
nor84: Profile thoughts works like this: anything you share is posted in a public forum.

If you feel assaulted. If someone attacks your beliefs, then complain to site administration by clicking on one of the pull-down topics at the top of the page and finding Contact Us. Assaulting a writer is against site rules. -
michaelcahill: We tend to be more unceremonious here. :)) I think you're safe. Good writing wins out in the end. -
Debbie Noland: I live in the Bible Belt but am not belligerent. A lot of the time I am confused instead. I recently wrote about this experience in my poem "Storm Country," which you can find in my portfolio. Maybe that will reassure you that not all of us are on the attack. :) -
    GE Parson:
    Dear Mr. Duckl,
In answer to your following question,:
"What is it with this guys and girls that they feel compelled to
impose their beliefs imperiously on others, not even thinking of
enquiring, first, if we are remotely interested in being thus
    assaulted?"

Well let me ask you this: What was the purpose of you telling the whole world that you are an Agnostic in the first place? I don't recall asking you what your religious belief was?

I do not know what else you received that made you feel "Imposed upon" but I was simply attempting to get you to open your mind to the possibility that the

    God of the Bible;

    the God of this physical world ;

that the God of Calvary's Cross can be known, can be PERSONALLY known; in fact He wants you to know Him personally. That's why He came in the person of Jesus and hung out with humanity for 3 1/2 years and voluntarily took your sins upon His back so that you and God could be Friends

If by what I have written here, offends you, I'd be liar if I said I was sorry, because I am not. You will be more greatly offended if you end up in the Lake of Fire because some of us "Belligerent Bible Belt" guys and girls failed to warn you of the wrath of God against your sins.
    Your Christian Friend,
    G.E. Parson

jpduck: Dear Mr/Mrs/Ms Parson, In answer to your question I would remind you that my letter was entitled 'A Letter to Atheists'. It was not, therefore, addressed to you. I had no interest in communicating with people of religious faith. But, in any case, something posted on FanStory as a literary exercise certainly does not have the personal address element of a letter sent to an individual.

    Adrian -
Realist101: you MUST ignore some of the comments...I quit FS two years ago because of something someone said. It's hard at times to deal but don't let anyone run you off. Let them go. x. -

jpduck: I used to belong to an excellent writers' group in Ely. As part of that we wrote at least two pieces per month. In my case these are nearly all short stories - a genre which fascinates me.
The synopsis of my published novel, 'Time and Again' is:
'Nicholas Harrison, 63 years old and retired, awoke one morning to find he was in a strange bedroom in a strange house. But then he recognised the wallpaper. In horror he realised he was in his childhood bedroom. His mind had gone back fifty years and was sharing a skull with his thirteen-year-old self. Both occupants of the skull were terrified, but soon began to realise that they needed to adjust to each other, as nothing was going to change. This gradually led to a journey of discovery with mutual benefits.'
Genya: Hi and welcome to fanstory. It is a great place to be. I joined in 2012 but only started posting in July 2014 due to work pressures. Look forward to reading some of your work. Take care. Genya -
    Selina Stambi:
Welcome, Duck. Were you up at the quack of dawn? :) -
granny goes viral: Groan. But funny. -
LadyCosgrove: 'Time and Again' sounds intriguing. -
jpduck: It is intriguing! You can read a free extract on Amazon. -
alphonsus murgatroyd: hello jpduck just letting you know I am now a fan of yours ... you have been warned! :-) -
