Pam (respa): Congratulations on the second place finish, Linda, very well deserved. -

livelylinda: The last year and a half was rough. A variety of illnesses, cancer/surgery, shingles, flu, eye problems, etc. Having been writing much but am back on my feet again and hope to be writing more often. Stop by and say, "hi". Linda

livelylinda: August 10, 2017: Survived another trip to the cardiac cath lab. Two more stents. There are now 4 stents in my last coronary artery. It will keep me going for a while longer.

Also surviving the end of what I thought was the love of my life. A good sociopath tells you what you want to hear but never the truth. It got a little scary but I am safe now.

livelylinda: January 9, 2017: had delightful holiday with my family and new love.` Three and a half months into this romance and it continues to grow and grow. I'm madly in love and the feeling is reciprocated. Friends at my church tell me they hadn't seen me smile for a couple of years and that my lips are no longer grey and my cheeks have color again. Such is the power of love! About to write a poem about this . . .Linda
crybry67: Yes love is a powerful force! I'm so happy for you! -
    Ideasaregems-Dawn: I read the poem, and it's wonderful! -

livelylinda: Not on site much these days and writing very little. Having one of those downswings where I need to sleep most of the time . . . my body shuts down and my brain shuts down.

In contact with my newly found sister and nephew. We will be meeting in person in a couple of weeks. We were laughing about how when we first see each other, then do the 'old lady shuffle', it will take us a week to actually get within hugging distance! We have a lot of laughs. The more info I get from her about our father, the closer I feel to him. He is becoming a real person rather than just a name and a couple of pictures. After we meet, I'm sure I'll be writing something (if I have the energy).

livelylinda: Well, another trip to the cardiac cath lab. They found that the last stent placed two years ago is still doing its job and then added two more stents to open up blockage in my one remaning coronary artery. This should allow me a bit more energy and less chest pain. Linda 12/15

Jumbo J: Just read Linda's birthday card poem to you... wanted to say a Happy Birthday to you and wish you all the very best... so sorry to hear of your condition... you know, you can be on this site and not get to know or read a lot of poets/writers... or even know of their real life stories... I am truly regretful you have fallen through my reading/reviewing cracks... I will keep my eyes open a lot wider to receive your essence in future... so again...a very Happy Birthday to you... and I hope that you are well or at very least comfortable and get to have an enjoyable day with all who love and care for you... livelylinda: Just an update: I was diagnosed a few months ago with Congestive Heart Failure. There are 4 stages and I seem to be slipping into stage 3 at the present time. Am tired all the time. Getting more congested and a bit more coughing. Feet, ankles and calves swell every day, most of the time. Have to use Nitro one to four times a day, sometimes I wake up between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. with chest pains. Still get up every morning, take my dawg across the street to the park for a few minutes. Do a little house work or laundry. Write every day, head is full things it wants out of there. Basically, I'm being kept alive with some really good medications/doctors/and the grace of God. Linda
rama devi: Sending healing thoughts, light, love, hugs and prayers. Hope you feel better soon. -
pipersfancy: Hi Linda - if I recall correctly, you first discussed your health challenges about a year ago. At that time, your doctor was suggesting you had about 6 months to live... well, all I can say is, you must be doing a LOT right! You remain active (I know lots of "healthy"indivuals who don't walk or get outside everyday like you do!) and positive in mind and spirit! You just keep doing what you're doing, my friend... and the time you need to get all those wonderful thoughts out on paper to share with the world will be there for you! Hugs, and prayers for continued stability in your health. -
livelylinda: pipersfancy: thanks so much for your encouraging words. I needed to see them because I have such low energy, it is frustrating not to be able to do very much. I do make sure to get out and get some fresh air every day. I usually take my dawg across the street so he can run in the park. In the afternoon I walk across the street to collect the mail. In the morning before it gets too hot and humid, I will sit out in the backyard with my coffee. Everything takes so much effort and ends with needing a Nitro. But your words see it as different - positive in mind and spirit - some days I feel that and other days I'm angry and others so sad. I've already begun Christmas shopping for this year. I'm planning on being here. I promised my 18 year old grandson, Austin, that I would be to his high school graduation May, 2015. Nice talking with ya. Linda -
Selina Stambi: Linda, keep positive and looking upward. Sometimes, what our eyes see is not entirely the truth, because there is work being done on the inside that we cannot begin to imagine. Prayer works - praying for you! Love xxx -
l.raven: HI Linda, just dropping be to see how you are doing...it's really beautiful here today...was outside for a little while...hope you have been able to spend some time in your garden...well just came in to see you..have a wonderful day...hope it has cooled off a bit...Love ya you...Linda xxoo soon -

Ben Colder : Somthing for the recor. Linda, My Mary has the heart problem as well , 14 years now come Mothers' Day. 76 years of age and going strong. The devil is a lier, Jesus is Lord. Stay on the faith line and we will be in prayer as well. -
al1801: Han g in there, Linda and I'm hoping you're not suffering. Al xx -

livelylinda: I write mostly poetry, some short stories and have some country/western song lyrics. Have been writing for 35 years. I have written about my life, a lot of nature and spiritual pieces. I use to be active in my church - a Deacon, sang in the choir, part of the worship service committee and a few other odds and ends but my health is declining so only make it to church about once a month now. It exhausts me. Have been divorced since the 1980's. Have 3 grown daughters, one granddaughter and two grandsons. My first great-grandchild, Bentley turned 4 years on November 8.
I have over 400 poems and a basket of stories and personal essays posted on this site. I usually write fairly well and attempting to learn how to polish everything and make it better. With everyones help I am sloooooowly getting there. . .
livelylinda: I am having health issues as my heart is slowly giving out. Been in and out of the hospital, no energy, sleep a lot. Haven't written anything this year yet. Have been given 6 months to live by my doctors. Hope to write something soon. livelylinda -
mumsyone: I just read "The Wait" and will go back to review it shortly, but I just have to say how sorry I am to hear about your condition. Is there no hope for a transplant? I pray that God will comfort you and your family. -
livelylinda: My cardiologist and I discussed a heart transplant briefly. I'm 65 years old and believe hearts for transplant (which are difficult to find), should be used on younger people who haven't already lived a life. Besides that, the recovery would be a long one and I no longer have the patience for that. -
Treischel: I applaud your courageous and unselfish decision due to the shortage of hearts. I too am sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you see those angels you wrote about when the time comes. -
shortwerks: Hello, Linda. I am new to the site and just read a couple of your poems. I was hoping they were imaginative and am so sorry to find out otherwise. You are beyond brave. You will be in my thoughts. What a great example you are. Angels around you, indeed. -
Lovinia: What tremendous courage you have. My thought and prayers are with you. I hope you live in joy and liveliness with your family and friends for as long as you have, Hugs - Lovinia xoxoxo

At a young age, I knew I wanted to write. Was fascinated by a new tablet of college-ruled paper and pen. Just didn't know what to write. Attempted poetry in grade-school. Wrote short-stories about my close friends in junior high school. They all got mad at me (because I told the truth). Began writing seriously at age 35; just came out of the pen one day and haven't stopped since. Write mostly poetry but attempt personal essays and short stories. I love nature, family, singing in church choir and most of all, writing.

The picture is recent, this year. I look all of my 72 years! Only thing different is that I have less hair . . .almost bald . . .very freeing and something to do with my frustrations of the time pandemically and politically.
