MsRefusenik: Spiritual Echo Three of my favourite writers are Mastery, who writes a brilliant story with such heartfelt compassion for every child he is breathing life into that one could almost believe that he is a reincarnation of each of his characters. he rarely posts that every phrase and every comma is in place and as I have neen following his book I het extremely pissed, and I tell him, that it takes weeks between chapters and postings. I walked beside two authors, Forestport12 and Witherton who just completed their novels. Stan (Forest) is a lyrical writer who makes the wind whisper by your ears when you read. Cheryl (Whither) has just completed a memoir starting from a dirt poor Mexican girl smack in the middle of Mormon country and her seduction or explosion inot her own Cinderella story that went horribly bad. My investment in their stories (for my own pleasure and tears) went beyond a reader, I became a participant in their grievious struggle to pen the story and surprisingly bits and pieces of their style started to float into my posts. Don't kid yourself, of course it matters if you win. Until I started I thought that I was a make believe writer. I tore up paper and loved gel pens. I did take a correspondence course years ago and that helped me immeasurably, but I was still feeding on the feedback, waiting for the tutors approval. I took courses at a college and dropped out when I realized that most people just wanted to stand and read their stuff out loud and get approval. This site isn't that much different, but the discipline of getting responses, the Spag Queens that will kill you for bad punctuation (and by the way they are right, although I cursed them and decided they were all withered old school teachers who didn't appreciate creativity)Every one of these moments, if you take yourself seriously (and I do mean all parts of your life) will help you define why you want to, need to writ Hey, I was so disgusted at some of the fowery poetry on site one I won a contest and actually peed myself laughing. But trust me I've posted a lot of mediocrity as well (including the poem) Just a post script to your reply. 07-Jul-2011 Enter Reply: For your review on The Meaning of My Life by Spiritual Echo |

MsRefusenik: A brilliant poem full of divine truth and love that I read today by word: if I am lucky He will sit on my page and enmesh you in His wonders for I form light into words hoping to become Divinity's plagiarist |

MsRefusenik: I want to thank the great writers here at FS for helping me with my tedious writing, especially the poetry which I know I'm not much good at but won't give up on because I love it so. The wonderful "real" poets and other writers here keep giving me positive feedback and honest suggestions that help me learn, as though I were somekind of real poet myself. Thank you all. You know who you are. |
