Henry King: I self published my first book. I didn't intend to send it to Amazon, because I wrote it for a small local audience. My grandchildren began asking about their Lebanese ancestors. We didn't know much about them, because the names we knew them by were not on ship manifests or immigrant rosters. The search became International. When I mimeographed my story, fifteen copies, the word got out. Printing on my little printer was costly and time consuming. Having the printing outsourced was three times as expensive as having Amazon do it. So now I'm a published author. My book is The Cobbler's Tale; ISBN 9781703749441. The narrative describes the search, the documentation, where they came from, when they arrived and where they were going. It includes a family tree and many family pictures. It has the names they were born with, the various names they used crossing into the U.S.A. and the names we knew them by. |

Henry King: I am retired and a widower. For the past three years, I have written and published my work in my home town. My recreational reading genre is Urban Fantasy and Sword and Sorcery. I do read some adventure and science fiction. My favorite writing is poetry which is canted towards my family, my natural environment and my religion. One of my great-grandchildren thinks I am as old as dragons. I am writing him a story about becoming a dragon. I enjoy fishing and I go deep sea fishing for my birthday present. Two years ago it was off Miami. Last year, off the Kona Coast, I hosted a son, grandson and great-grandson. Best birthday party ever with two marlin caught and released and one broke loose. This season's fishing catch, mackerel and snapper was deliciously excellent, twenty miles off Port Aransas. But, my body screamed, "Get your butt to the doctor!" I had torn a ligament. My bone Doctor said, I have severe arthritis in my back and shoulder. The pain will be lurking for the rest of my life. Do what ever I want, but use common sense. I replied, "Is there a pill for that?" |
