Who I am finished third in the contest "Soul Writer"

Priest B. Brown:

On the wings of rising expectations, a revolution occurs. Jesus taught his disciples that they were more than fishermen, murders, zealots, prostitutes, or tax collectors. These same went and turned the world upside down!

Priest B. Brown:

Truth challenges us to move off the couch of mediocrity and ignorance that we find so comfortable.

mrsmajor: I don't quite understand what you mean here, ignorance is for those that simply do not know...all of us start out not knowing...and I'm really comfortable with that thought...I'm a woman of 83 years of age, and still there is something even I can learn...yet my life is certainly not mediocre nor is it second rate...

damommy: I understand what you mean. We need to try new things, stretch ourselves to new horizons, see what we're capable of. Thank you.

    Priest B. Brown: msmajor,

I agree, we don't know what we don't know, but we need to discover what we don't know.

Some don't seek truth because they are at ease with what they already know, or don't know.

Some don't seek truth because it challenges what they hold precious.

Some don't seek truth because the darkness of ignorance is... comfortable. "If I don't know, then how can I be accountable?" they would ask.

Like yourself, it is our responsibily to seek out knowledge and truth and thus we grow and change. Our world becomes a bit bigger as well as our role in it.

When we learn, it should motivate us to

Priest B. Brown:

We write what we live and in order to write, we live life to the utmost.

Fear is just flavoring, and love the meat of our literary feast.

Priest B. Brown:

I am originally from Chicago. I once thought I would live there forever.
I grew up on the wrong side of the track and it was an encounter with God that changed me and saved my life.

I have always loved to write stories and poetry. Though I have never been officially published, I keep writing.

From our own Sandra Leon-Gonzalez:

Introducing Life Through Poetry and Art. Enjoy poetry reflecting the highs and lows of life, but ultimately seeing the light in every situation.

Having experienced tough challenges and learning to bounce back from life’s inevitable setbacks, she desires to share hopefulness, even when it seems that all is lost.

These poems are about a life’s journey through self-evaluation, seeing oneself in a positive space while asserting self-empowerment, growth and acceptance of the “new you”. The author also points out that it is important to identify negative energy, deflect them in their path, and forge ahead to the best part of oneself while embracing the beauty of art and poetry.
