Leonardo Wild: Just finished ThrillerFest with great success. Got acceptances from various writers (A-list and Mid-list) to read and, if they like it, blurb The Galapagos Agenda. The side-effect of the event is that it's also a "sleep deprivation fest" ... slept only about 9 hours in the past 72.

Leonardo Wild: I just read today that the Turing Test (the day an AI fools a human being during a 5 minute text conversation that it is human, and not a computer) has been achieved this past week by a Russian supercomputer.

Leonardo Wild: When I first wrote my novel UNEMOTION (currently posting here on FS), I never thought of it as a Young Adult. But when it was first translated and published in Germany, that's how it came out. However, over the years, this has been bugging me, and not too long ago I realized that what it really is, is something that has been coined "New Adult." For an audience that could be YA, but are slightly older, and with main characters going from 18 to 30 years of age.

A funny take, though, yours ... we could probably invent another illness called "the compulsion to respond" and yet another one "the compulsion to not respond." LOL! Don't ask me to turn those into medical jargon, though. :-) -

    Leonardo Wild: Yep, Linda, great news and a challenge. Last year I was as an author in a panel on science and thrillers, where you simply speak when your turn comes up. Now it's a matter of making the entire panel flow, making sure each author keeps it short and dandy and that they all get their chance to speak. -
    Linda Engel: Being a theatre director and having been in charge of several women's organizations it is a challenge to organize everything down to a science (no pun intended) It is like putting on a play. Good luck and time management is so important. -


Leonardo Wild: Just added chapter one of a novel that was science fiction ... now not so much.


Leonardo Wild: Off to Mexico in just over a week, as one of Ecuador's delegate writers for the Coahuila International Book Fair, to present my recently re-edited Thriller Cotopaxi Alerta Roja (Red Alert), which already made 3 people that I know of sell their houses in a valley that is on the path of what, in the Holocene, was the biggest lahar (mud flow) in the world. But the organizers still haven't sent the tickets ... so who knows. These .gob bureaucrats are definitely from a different planet!


Leonardo Wild: I just posted Subtext: The "Dark Matter" of Story, an article about a subject that is hardly ever analyzed, but often mentioned. The subject of my CraftFest Class this July at the Grand Hyatt, during ITW's ThrillerFest.
