Amused: I'm new to the site, a bit nervous and wondering if the darkest of insanities has finally claimed my fragile mind. I've dreamt of writing all my life and do so for the simple joy of the process (and to get the little people in my head out!) I consider it therapy at its best and although I previously wrote only for my own piece of mind, my overbearing and equally crazy family has grabbed onto my passion and are incessantly badgering me to make some sort of living at this. How little they understand. So I find myself here...be kind my new friends and find joy in every day!

    If you're curious to what I consider a poorly-written story, check out "Red Rue" on the first page. It violates many of the rules of creative writing, such as they are. -
    aakemp: P.S. Tell your family, if they keep badgering you, that the experts claim that if you write to earn money, you'll probably be disappointed. Write because you love it! If your work is any good, and so far I feel yours are, it will get noticed which is the first step to getting any money out of it. If it's not so good but has potential, don't be afraid to learn from the feedback. I've found that "Writer's Digest" magazine is extremely helpful in teaching how to write well. If you're serious about your writing, I would recommend subscribing to it.
