When do you consider yourself a professional writer?
    nor84: When I get money for writing, even once. Which I have. -
    Sandie lee: I still have a hard time considering myself a pro :p -
    Lady & Louis: Never have yet! :D Probably wouldn't even if I got a book out and people spent actual money on it. -
    DIS-illusioned: When you can write: crap, sh*t, @#$%, and everyone thinks it's a revelation from God. :)) -
    Epistemologist: never :)))) Who cares. 2 things come from writing. What we get for ourselves and what we get from others. Lots of people make money with the later but they probably all started like that former. Thats why they became good. So I would posture the following hypothesis: when we write for ourselves, from the truest of true place, we are professional. When we write for money we become an amateur. I like that. I think that is next on the publication list. -
    Sandie lee: Great thoughts. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I ever do :) -

    Grammies: I found that if you squease those cheeks and strain really hard putting your knees together about every ten fifteen minutes, ten repetitions, you actually get a good work out and you stay alert. I have a little timer I put beside monitor. Just a thought! ;) -

    --Turtle.: I'm literally experimenting with strapping my laptop to a treadmill at this very moment. Walking and typing at the same time. And I thought I wasn't talented...

Sandie lee: I started out writing non-fiction for kids, but soon found out I couldn't keep my sarcastic wit contained. So here I am writing humor for women over the age of 40.
    another jim: Yeah, kids don't really 'get' sarcasm...the little brats. -
    William Walz: I don't believe any woman over 40 has a sense of humor. The only time my wife ever laughs out loud is in the bedroom. -
    another jim: Mine laughs in the back seat of the car, too. And in the Jacuzzi... -
    dbmccarter: Of course women over 40 have a sense of humor. And woman over 60 are hilarious. It's because we really understand men and it's better to laugh than cry. -
