O. Warfield: I'm very happy today. I was told that my visit and reading my book at the Northside Family Learning Center did a lot of good. The gentlemen who won "Led By An Eagle" in our raffle is now reading the book to the class. This is a first for him. The fact that he wants to read it himself in front of others, and they want to hear it again, is really what it's all about for me. |

O. Warfield: I was a guest reader at the Northside Family Learning Center in Richmond Friday evening. Their Read Center presented "Reading in the Round." I read chapters from book two of my Omar Blue saga, Led By An Eagle, to adult students and coordinators and loved every minute of being in this wonderful place. The listeners were very enthusiastic, asking questions and I hope saying to themselves, "If she can do it, I can too." My daughter Joy was with me. She made a fine production out of the giveaway raffle of two books, packing each raffle ticket in a pretty gift bag with candy in it. I think I can say our audience had a good time and we both had a ball. |

O. Warfield: I was born in Brooklyn, New York, now living in Richmond, Virginia. Poet and author, I live with my husband of 46 years and have one daughter. My objective through the first two books in my Doberman Omar Blue Saga, Led By An Eagle and book one, Omar Blue and K-9 Town, USA, is to reach out to families, avid readers and dog lovers of all ages, offering hours of reading entertainment. Accompanied by my daughter Joy, I offer special entertainment to hospitals and other facilities for children and adults with special needs, and to seniors in assisted living communities. These events include the reading of my books, stories and poetry, and a host of gifts and surprises. An activist against animal cruelty, I belong to several volunteer groups and participate in many fundraising activities geared towards animal good health and well being, helping to raise thousands of dollars each year. A project most dear to me is a fundraiser I have coordinated for the last nine years. A talent showcase dubbed ??Pampering Tots?? with proceeds going towards the purchase of disposable diapers for babies in my community. My love for writing and gardening are equal. I love the peace, creativity and personal satisfaction brought about by both. |
