Triple P: My 9 year old daughter, Alison, who has already had two heart surgeries (back when she was a baby), is scheduled for an MRI on her heart November 29th. She will probably be having another surgery sometime in January and February, but we're praying she won't need one. Please keep us, and especially her, in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.

    songlines: In 1943 I had heart surgery. It was experimental at that time and the equipment was pretty basic compared to today. The war was on and my mother was alone but gave me that slight chance to live. I have had three children and no heart problems since. Please be positive and I will keep Alison in my prayers. -
    Triple P: thanks, songlines. I am positive, and am sure everything will work out one way or the other. What I have a hard time with is the thought of my daughter's chest being 'cracked' open, and then her having to recover from all that. I'd much rather have it happen to me. -

Triple P: Is there anyone else out there who would prefer to NOT win a contest, but rather get 2nd or 3rd for the member dollars? And also so they don't have to live up to the pressure of being a contest winner? In many ways I am glad I am not a top ranked poet.
Maybe I'm just weird (okay, that's a given!).
    adewpearl: I think you're being weird today, Patrick. LOL Even if you want member dollars more than real ones,
    with a $100 VISA card, you can buy member dollars, way more of them than you earn for second or third place. :-) -

    RavenShrift: You could use the prize money to purchase member dollars. Personally, I'd rather have cold, hard cash :-) -
