Some information about me... right now, the only thing I can think about is my religious status. I do not have one. I am non-religious. That just means I refuse to have any label put upon me, like agnostic, atheist, even spiritual, etc. I think religion, from its beginings, has been a response to the one thing mankind has feared the worst: death. We don't know what happens, never had any scientific proof, so in some way we must HAVE to go on, or what did we live our lives for? --what about all our accomplishments? --how do the mean and selfish people finally get punished? Notice, these are questions of a human nature, and if there IS a god, I doubt they would be presented in such a way. Perhaps not at all--he/she may have more pressing issues to deal with. After all, even though we might think we are, we are surely neither the only nor the most intelligent beings out there. But religion is comforting, and as long as it does not interfere with one's freedom to doubt, think, and question, perhaps it is not so bad. Remember that well-known quote? --"Religion is the opiate of the masses"--? So true...at least in many places. Matter of fact, I think that, just above, I used part of another quote: --"I will not attack your doctrines or your creeds if they accord liberty to me.If they hold thoughts to be dangerous - if they aver that doubt is a crime, then I attack them one and all, because they enslave the minds of men." Thanks for reading this, if you did, and for hopefully having an open mind.
