Travel, photography, genealogy, music, cycling and of course, writing.

I am recently retired and reside in the most beautiful area of Virginia--the Shenandoah Valley. I find beauty and inspiration in the mountains every day--it is one of my most faithful muses.

I love to write poetry and have been writing for about 40 years; however, it was not until I joined FanStory in 2009 that I began in earnest to develop and refine my writing skills. For that, I am most grateful to the Site and to the many wonderful writers and poets who have mentored me.

My preferred writing styles are more formal than free verse. I love to read and write in the Shakespearean Sonnet, blank verse, tanka, haiku and quartet forms. I am fortunate to have been published in the on-line magazine Prune Juice.

I currently serve on the FanStory faculty and teach blank verse poetry classes.
