ABOUT

rmdelta is a retired Homicide Detective from a major southern city. He knows a whole lot more about writing today than he did a year ago.

"My Sweet Kathy", was the first thing he ever wrote on this site. That was in September, 2008. Of course, he hopes everybody wants to read this story.

He loves to read other peoples work, but knows a whole lot less about reviewing than any improvement of his knowledge about writing. He thinks that is pathetic.

He is trying to determine if he is creative in the field of writing. He hopes to do this by seeing if anybody on the site
will enjoy his efforts. He hopes one day to find out that others will find his writing enjoyable.

Since he's so old, he figures he has only a brief window of opportunity to find this out.

If there is someone out there who helps him get published, he promises to put their name in
his writing. Somewhere. Someday. Perhaps.

rmdelta also has two favorite quotes, both by Mr. John Wayne. He actually has others as well, but will list only one here:

"Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway." John Wayne

Well- what the heck, perhaps I'll share some more of my favorites with you. I also like these:

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
Benjamin Franklin 1759

"A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend upon the support of Paul."
George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)

"We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."
-- Winston Churchill

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery."
-- Winston Churchill

"A liberal is someone who believes that society is owed a great debt and that said debt should be paid with your money." G. Gordon Liddy

Perhaps one quote, very much above all others, pretty well sums up my entire philosophy about life in the United States--and is at the core of my heart.

It is the quote issued by William Wallace, (better known to those of us today, as "Braveheart.")

Even while the sword was descending upon his neck, Braveheart shouted one word, at the top of his voice.....

"F R E E D O M"

That too, is my cry!
