womanwriter: Hey everyone! Sure is nice to be back - if even for a short visit. Just got home a few days ago from the hospital - had a close call with bladder cancer, hopefully that is all it was - a close call. I probably won't be writing much right away - but I will try to do some reading and rating. At least that way I will be able to keep in touch to some slight degree.
Well, that's all for now. Looking forward to readin' you all.
womanwriter
Bellydanser: Glad it sounds as if the issues is under control. I hope it stays that way. Welcome back. -
purrfect tale: Sorry to hear that, Christine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. -
turtledove: Welcome back! Thoughts and prayers your way... -

womanwriter: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Well the holidays are just about over - and I guess it is time to get back to writing - FINALLY!

I sure have missed everyone here at FS!I hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas and that we are all ready to take the New Year by storm.
Blessings & Hugs to one and all.
turtledove: Happy Valentines Day! Hope to see more of your writing soon :) -

womanwriter: OK, I am confused again. I can't find out who made it all the way to 60,000 words, I can't seem to get to the voting booth. Can anybody help. I really don't want to read chapters of books that didn't get finished if they don't qualify for the contest, but how do I tell?
    another jim: Start counting... -
womanwriter: God! I sure hope you are joking! LOL -
purrfect tale: You, me, and Fleedleflump as the only 3 who hit the 60k. Click on contests then click voting booths, it's there now. -
womanwriter: Thanks Kim. I sure do appreciate your help, and I LOVED your story. -
Betty517: Yes you made it and I did vote for you but where's the rest of the story? I want to know what happened to Clarisse and who she ended up with! Betty -
Betty517: YAY! I hear your going to continue your excellent story! I am thrilled! I'm on the moon!
    -

womanwriter: I made it!!! YAAAAHHOOOOOOO!!!!
61,000 + words in under 30 days - I am probably the last one to finish, but, Hey! I made it! LOL It sure does feel good. Now I am going to go to bed for a WEEK! (just kidding) LOL - But I definitely will NOT be doing a lot of sitting down for the next couple of days. LOL
Hope the rest of the team made it to the finish line.
A GREAT BIG HUG to ALL the people who have cheered me on and encouraged me every step of the way - I could not have done it without you. I hope you will all continue to enjoy the journey of "Clarisse", as there is still a lot of story to be told - I'll just be doing it at a much slower pace. LOL
Blessings & Hugs to one and all,
~Christine~
purrfect tale: Way to go! Don't laugh about sleeping for a week. It sounds like a good idea to me. -
Lois Delaney: Way to go, Christine. I am sooooo happy for you, and I love the story too. I will be one following for sure. You have me hooked. Hugs, Lois -
womanwriter: Thanks Lois, I am so glad to hear it, though it might be a few days, before I continue with the story. i have a LOT of reading to do. LOL -

womanwriter: Well, the 50,000 has been reached for NaNoWriMo contest and I am less that 8,000 from the goal of 60,000 for FS. I had an especially hard time writing the latest chapter. I saw it clearly in my mind's eye, but had a great deal of difficulty getting it into words. LOL
Well, I am off to the next chapter!

womanwriter: Going out with hubby!!!! Back this evening or sooner. First date since the house fire - so it should be a hot one. LOL

womanwriter: Just discovered that you can only nominate a reviewer on time in a month - hardly seems fair when each review can take so much time and effort. :-(
Now I am wondering if I can go back and vote for previous reviewers and their reviews. Hmmm I guess I'll find out shortly.
UPDATE:
Less than 14,000 words to go. Yahoo!!!! Story is looking like it is going to go way beyond the 60,000 words of NaNo competition, so I have decided to see it through to the end, no matter how long. Hope you will all syat with us on the journey, as there is still LOTS to come.
Thanks everyone, for all the help - it means the world to me.
Blessings & Hugs
~Christine~ XOXOXOX
    Laurie Clayton: Hi Christine,
I have nominated postumously before now. Good luck with nano, -
    womanwriter: Thanks Laurie, I appreciate the heads-up. ;-) -

womanwriter: Taking a quick break - Brother is doing all the cooking, hubby is working on websites, 3 of the dogs are watching NFL Football (YES REALLY!), and it's up to me to raise my word count. LOL I hope everyone is having a great day with their family and loved ones. XOXOX

womanwriter: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am not sure if I can afford to take Thanksgiving off or not - we'll see when (if?) I am even able to get out of bed in the morning LOL
My current word count is 44179 - just a little less than 16,000 to go! Yahoo! In 6 days - BooHoo - Just kidding! This is really just the home stretch.LOL
Hubby is home, so I am going to go get some ZZZzzzs
purrfect tale: I know the feeling. I'll be at my desk, drumstick in one hand, typing with the other. -
womanwriter: I have turkey juice on all the keys on my keyboard,, and my fingers keep slipping LOL
Hmmm - just stop and eat - or perhaps be a REAL writer and starve while writing? LOL
All the more power to you if you can type with one hand - I have more than enough trouble with TWO hands. LOL
Happy Thanksgiving - the finish line is in sight :-) -

womanwriter: How do I use /access the lucky leprechaun certificates I have to use on my posted work? Sometimes they show up and I don't even know how they got there, then when I try to access the ones I own I can't find anyplace to do that. Hmmm - if you know please let me know.
Thanks Everyone.
PS I seem to have my computer back to normal LOL - I am HAPPY!!!!!
nor84: Click on "promote" and you'll find the member cent pumps (MCPs) and the Banner Ad Supremes that you own. Pull down on the banner ad pulldown, and you'll find any Lucky Leprechaun certs that you have. Click on one and it will be used to promote the work. -
womanwriter: Thank you nor84 I was able to follow your great directions and it worked! What would I do without my FS family & friends?!? -

womanwriter: Well that only took 5 HOURS! :-(
Now I have to go pump out at least 2,000 words today to keep caught up.
Please, keep my in your prayers.
Blessings & Hugs
~Christine~
purrfect tale: I have to do 3000! Do you know how hard it is to typing with your fingers crossed? -
Lois Delaney: So sorry to hear about your computer problems. I have different problems as you already know. I'm not giving up. Just won's be done until after Christmas. Too many other issues to deal with.
    Blessings and Hugs
    Lois -

womanwriter: OK First things first - lets get yesterdays Chapter posted.:-)
purrfect tale: Did you get your little print problem fixed? -

womanwriter: Still hanging in there, but now it's time to GO TO BED!!!
Nighty Nite to all.
Hugs & Blessings,
~Christine~
Laurie Clayton: I know that I am coming into this a little late, but may I ask, are you using a laptop, notepad or a desktop computer? -
womanwriter: It's a lop top, but i think we have it fixed. Out of curiosity, and in case I do still have aproblem, is there really any difference? Ain't it just the same box of cookies in a different box?
Needing all the help I can get these days. I sure do appreciate you.
    Thanks Laurie
    ~christine~ -
Laurie Clayton: Hi Christine, just a thought and it may be completely wrong, but have you checked your mouse pad? I had a similar problem a while back with the site pages looking very small and the text and link boxes were all crunched up. It turned out that I had inadvertantly made the changes on my mouse pad. If you tap your two index fingers onto the center of your mouse pad then move them apart, does this make the page better. -

womanwriter: Still experiencing screen and (some) posting problems; here is an update:

Thanks for you continued support and encouragement; it means the world to me.

I am currently having some horrendous computer problems - EVERYTHING is microscopic on my screen, and chapter 9 in particular at this time is reported to be in BAD shape (commas & Spaces have gone amuck because I can hardly differentiate between commas and periods, and one space or two). I am so sorry, for the inconvenience. I have three IT gurus trying to get the situation resolved, but I guess it is not even as good as we thought. :-( If it is at all possible, and you choose to do SPAG patrol, please know that I am using copy & paste for later reference. In the meantime I'm still writing, but it remains difficult, so I would appreciate it if you rate only on story and not on format. Please say a prayer that I can get this fixed FAST.
I would really hate to have to withdraw from FS Contest at this point :-(
Thanks a million.
Blessings & Hugs,
~Christine~
FanStory: Is the problem the text size? If so, you can change that through your browsers settings. Instructions. - Tom -
purrfect tale: Christine - Oh no! This sounds to me like your monitor is going. Are other screens shrinking besides your posts? -
womanwriter: Well thanks everyone for help & suggestions. It might be a problem with my processor(?) We have many areas fixed but somethings are still microscopic :-( This page is a little small, but still very legible, Thank God.
I have no idea of what else to do except to keep writing, and let the chips fall where they may. Did over 2,000 words today - now my eyes are watering like Niagara Falls - and still I can't live without my daily dose of FansStory!!!
Love you guys! Please keep praying - God hears all prayers and answers them too.
    Blessings & Hugs
    ~Christine~ -

womanwriter: Well it LOOKS like my puter problems are over - at least it does HERE - I'm going to try and post the next chapter and see if it is still small again. I would cross my fingers but they are permanently froze in their keyboard mode.LOL
turtledove: Hi, okay great! Will catch up with reading and writing ?? Will take a genie for me to finish...way behind, turtledove. Go Nanos go... -

womanwriter: Well I FINALLY got the font/format for chapter 8 fixed - it only took me like 4 hours and ten tries. Don't know if it my computer, a program or what, but the darn text was disappearing (getting smaller and smaller) as you got to the bottom of the page - I wonder if anyone else has ever had that problem. I scrub my text before posting - never had the problem before, Hmmm another anomaly? Ok Maybe now I can get back to writing. LOL
purrfect tale: I've never had that happen. At this point in Nano, if it did I would think it was my eyes from constantly staring at the monitor! Not sure, but I think only 4 of us left in the FS contest who are going to hit the 60,000. -
robyn corum: I don't know, but I like the word 'anomaly'. Say it again. -

womanwriter: Well, it's finally here - we are counting down the hours till midnight. My husband came home and has stalled me a bit, but I do know my priorities. LOL Good luck to everyone on NaNo.
babylonia: good luck to you ...
    love,
    barbara -

womanwriter: I just want to let everyone know that I am NOT ignoring them, (I love you all way too much for that!), but I will be working very hard at getting ready for NaNoWriMo. I have a story that I have had in my mind for a long time, that is finally begging to be told, so I have to get all my character sheets and story boarding done. That will take most of my time, and I still have to write my finals for my certification this week too. I just hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew without choking. LOL
purrfect tale: I am in the middle of the same mad rush! Good luck on NaNo! -
Razz: You go girl! And the best of luck to you. -
Lois Delaney: I hope you have all read the good news posted on the contest site here on FanStory. I am so excited about it, I don't want anyone to miss out. -
purrfect tale: My name on NaNo is Blogmother. My group is Zanesville, OH -

womanwriter: And so the countdown begins. Seven days till we all leap out of the starting gate. I'll be pretty busy all week long deciding on what I am going to write this year. I have several ideas in mind, but still nothing that my muse is finding exhilarating. Not to worry, she has never let me down before. Ticktock ticktock ...
purrfect tale: Are a lot of Fanstory people jumping over to NaNo in Nov.? -
Lois Delaney: I sure hope not, purrfect tale. Please read the good news on the FanStory Nano site. -

womanwriter: Well, in just a few more hours we will be in the last week before NaNoWriMo. I can hardly express how excited I am! This will be (I think) my fourth entry. I missed last year because our house and everything we owned was lost a year ago tomorrow. It wouldn't have been so bad but a month earlier I had taken my insurance money to pay an electric bill for my boss who was on vacation. The house fire happened the day after she got back, and to make matters worse she never did return the money. Of course I ended up leaving the business. I chalk it up to another of life's lessons learned.
This year I am going to try something different. I'm not sure what yet, but I have reserved a spot on the NaNoWriMo page here at FanStory, so we will all see what happens LOL
Wish me luck, or better yet, pray for me.:-D
purrfect tale: I am also doing NaNoWriMo. I didn't reserve a spot on the Fanstory page though because I know it will take me all Dec. and probably more to edit what I do in Nov. I still have a legal question to research for the story Line I have in mind. This wlll be my first year at NaNoWriMo. How many hours a day does it generally take you to hit the final dead-line? -
    womanwriter: Dear purrfect tale;
For me, it is not a matter of how many hours that I do write, I keep better tabs on how much sleep I get LOL
The last time I did NaNo I spent the entire month in a massage chair, headphones on and keyboard on my lap. LOL
This year it might not be so easy for me - no massage chair, my brother has moved in, and my brain is trying to get wrapped around an idea that truly excites my muse. So far no such luck. :-(
As for the FS postings, I hadn't even thought about people actually being able to see my first draft. LOL Now I know I might be in real trouble... Oh well, the show must go on.
Seriously, I would think that the time factor varies, dependent on the writer and their style of writing. Every time I ahve done this it has been different. Once I wrote from beginning to end. Once I wrote in sporadic scenes, which might be the way I do it this time because I have a program on my puter that allows me to do this with ease. It doesn't necessarily make the actual writing any easier, but I have found that it helps me work on the areas that my brain/muse wants to work on at any given time.
Hope this helps. I look forward to sharing the experience with you.
    Blessings,
    womanwriter -
