terryangelo is emerging from a long literary coma. She is not young, not old; feels like one hundred years old some days and twenty on others. She also thinks it's strange to talk about herself in the third person so...

I have traveled across the USA quite a few times, spent months hiking in the southwestern deserts and backpacked across the northern half of Mexico. I've had numerous jobs, everything from the ridiculous to the mundane. I started my life in the tenements of NYC and ended up very settled in the suburbs without a driver's license. My husband and I have never felt the parental urge, so no children, but two dogs who are just as expensive and exasperating. I do love to read and have many authors I call favorites but only one book-The Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake. (Probably because it is such a great piece of escapist literature)

Much of my writing is dark in its nature because much of my life was. Therefore, I tend to prefer writers who explore those realms. I also like Indian, Islamic and Latin American authors. I think reading a good book is taking a unique journey into someone elses' mind and culture.

Lastly, I can sometimes be sarcastic without realizing it. Please feel free to tell me in no uncertain terms. I have a tough hide!
