    For those FS members who did not know: Jarlsbane suffered a heart attack while doing yard work with his son and later passed away.

    adewpearl: Michael was one of the truly unsung heroes of this site. His poetry is among the very best FanStory has to offer, but because he rarely promoted, few ever read it. I feel privileged to have been his friend and to have reveled in the beauty of his work. -

    ulster3: I just read words' poem and came to Jarls Port. I am really in shock. I had reviewed The Second Burning the other day, which appears to be the last post. Jarls work is exceptional.     vickib: I'm so sad to come home from vacation and read about Michael. Him and I shared so many funny messages back and forth as he TRIED to help me with my haiku poems. Once I was trying to disribe a sprout coming up from the ground and I just wasn't getting it right so I told him I was going to go dig one up and look at it and that I must be crazy. He wrote me back and sad no Vicki your not crazy, that's research! He taught me more about writing haiku poems than anyone and I have shared what he taught me whenever I can. I loved his writing and have always felt bonded to him here on FS. It's weird how attached you can get to people here. Meeting him was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. He was special and I will always remember him, though I have no face to refer to I have a feeling of his spirit and that's the best gift anyone can have. I will miss you Michael.     Jersey Dreamer: Forgive my late condolences, there is no excuse for me leaving my thoughts so late.
    When I first came on to Fanstory Michael was one of the first poets to review my struggling works, with a helping hand from the firm and fair poets on this site I have learnt quite alot.
    I did find it difficult to adapt as the American way of spelling slightly differs some times to the UK.
    But Michael always guided me in the right direction as did all poets.
    I hope John will keep Michaels profile for every one to look back on and gain inspiration.
