The Woeful Plight of Coronavirus Victims

Dying Alone

Souls left wanting at death's solemn door
Door that prevents the comfort of family
Family whose streaming tears ask 'Why?'
'Why?' this invisible enemy usurped destiny

Destiny shortened, unhappily left behind
Behind wearily sequestered to die alone
Alone despairing without requisite hope
Hope of remembrances sadly unknown

Unknown by loved ones bereaved hearts
Hearts and minds kept apart left to comply
Comply as one final breath ceases to sound
Sound of their inaudible unanswered cry
