Winter solstice

WINTER SOLSTICE

Winter solstice here today
Indicates the shortest day
New sunrise but there's no sun
This is how this day's begun

What a difference one day makes
Similar view that one partakes
Shortest day, longest night
Yesterday's was full sunlight

Every day's another scene
Every shot shows where I've been
Oh how I love the morning view
A different canvas I pursue

Every day brings something new
A cloud formation brings a different view
I love the sound of breaking ocean
Each new wave a different motion

From this point the days grow longer
Of this joint my love grows stronger
I know I'll be back again tomorrow
Another shot, beg steal or borrow

That's the strength of my addiction
Camera in hand is my affliction
My lens is clear for another day
Suppose that's all I have to say

Today in the southern hemisphere and being winter, it is officially the shortest day of the year, the 21st June. It is called the winter solstice.
This shot, this morning in Cronulla on this day was taken by local photographer Michael Sutton and I am sure he will be there for many more sunrises.
