The metal detector was exploding. Beneath the sand something glittered. Ron unpacked his small shovel and started to dig.
"Finally," he chortled, "I've hit pay dirt."
The 20-carat diamond bracelet damn near blinded him. But when he reached down to extract it, a cold, fleshy hand curled around his ankle.
