Joseph interprets Pharaoh's dream
A chapter in the book Joseph
Joseph Part 2 The Dream
by Roxanna Andrews
The Dream
Joseph sits in an Egyptian jail, A messenger sent to his cell. Pharaoh has had a dream, Will Joseph know what it means? The dream, seven fat cow devour seven thin, Can Joseph tell the meaning within? Then seven thin cows devour seven fat, What is the meaning behind that? Pharaoh had to know right now! What meant these dreams about the cows? ~Joseph interprets the dream~ "The fat cows are prosperous years, Years of plenty without fears. Seven of them there will be, And storing food will be the key. Gather in the crops this very day, For seven lean years are on the way. A famine seven years the thin cows mean, It's like, the world has never seen." Pharaoh made Joseph second in command, And word soon spread throughout the land. Crops were gathered in and stored So they might feed the hungry horde, To descend upon Egypt when the famine came, Spreading Joseph's wisdom and his fame, But under an Egyptian name. |
Josephâ??s Egyptian name - Zaphnath-Paaneah
Some think it meant â??Reveler of secretsâ?? some think it meant â??Preserver of the world.â??
While in prison Joseph interprets the dreams of 3 of his fellow inmates. One a wine taster for Pharaoh is soon released to resume his duties.
Two years later Pharaoh has 2 dreams no one can interpret, the wine taster remembers Joseph and he is sent for.
When he alone is able to interpret the dreams, Pharaoh makes him 2nd in command under him and gives him his daughter as wife. He is given an Egyptian name and put in change of storing food during the 7 years of plenty, against the 7 yrs of famine and building the storehouses. Genesis 40-41
