Freestyle two true story poems
Hollow House
by justjo66
Hollow House
Dark house on a hill Now stands uninhabitable Hard-heartedness ruled No forgiveness lived there Hades prevailed Weeds grow on hallowed ground No flowers can be found Once there was a home Now a hollow house ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ End of the hall, left door is where he did the deed killed himself it was decreed It seems he could not do it Live without her was his truth He laid down on the bed they had shared Put a gun to his head ended his pain I wish he had given life more time Yet, it wasn't meant to be I hope his soul is now free For me, I miss him |

This was inspired this morning as I left for work. I looked across at my neighbor's home standing empty with weeds growing tall and felt so sad for my friend. He was only in his forties and had so much life still to live.
