A fanciful day at the circus

There's a Bear Over There

by Jim Wile

There’s a bear over there who is combing his hair.
There’s a sheep who is driving a Jeep on a dare.
And then there’s a horse who is singing, of course,
but he sings with such force, he’s an awfully hoarse horse.

I saw then some mules who were working with tools
and a couple of sword-fighting mice in a duel.
They were dueling on top of a bed for a lion,
just made by the mules for the lion to lie on.

Next came a panda who’s dressed to the hilt.
He was playing the bagpipe and wearing a kilt,
but the panda bear needed a little more practice.
He sounds like a monkey just pricked by a cactus.

And finally, a skunk who sat up on a stump.
He was twitching his nose ‘cause he thunk the stump stunk.
But the stump thunk the skunk stunk. Who knows who is right?
Perhaps there’s no answer to this stinky plight.

Delighted to see all these wonderful creatures,
I was amazed as I sat in the bleachers
watching this circus. Oh my, what a scream!
And then I woke up; it was only a dream.
