The Last Throes of Summer

Flaming colours interweaved,
Dancing sun on Autumn leaves,
Each leaf held tight, each loss is grieved,
As the tree to Summer cleaves.

Writing Prompt
Write a Kouta or quatrain (four-line poem) in any style or format. This contest only requires four lines in any style with no restriction on word or syllable counts. Rhymes or alliteration is not required but is allowed.


It's going into Autumn here in the southern hemisphere, and some of the trees outside have already started their spectacular transformation.
