Leftkansas: I enjoy being on Fanstory. It does embrace the reality of the passion that is involved in becoming a professional writer. While talent and drive are essential items they won't get you very far because it is a pay to play world. It seems that without surplus resources (financial and time consumption ) being published is almost an impossibility. I would like to spend more time on the site but my job doesn't allow for it. My dream has always been to retire and become a professional writer. But as retirement nears my dream slips farther from my grasp. Does anybody have any comments they are willing to share on subsidy publishing. I wanted to try self-publishing but time and lack of any viable marketing skills stand in my way. I do apologize that I can't spend more time reading the works of the rest of the community. Soon I will be retiring and that problem will take care of itself. |
