Heather Bagley: I?ve recently run into an issue and I?m wondering if this happens to anyone else, too. Anytime I type a quotation or an apostrophe into the author?s note Fanstory will change it to â??
Is there some way to fix this, or is it just a bug?
    nor84: If you attempt to use the more common "curly" apostrophe or quotation mark, the fanstory editor cannot recognize it and will change it to a question mark. You can copy/paste your story/poem, and then re-type the question punctuation marks once you are on fanstory. Be sure to save after having made the correction. -


Heather Bagley: Just to let everyone know, I am preparing for my oldest sister's wedding and my schedule is very packed. I don't have much time at my leisure so reviews, replies and posts will slow down. <3


Heather Bagley: What do you do when you can't for the life of you come up with a plot for a short story/flash fic? I'm struggling a little bit-
    nor84: A plot is always about someone trying to do something and whether or not they succeed. You can either start the problem or dream up a character and then give them a problem. For flash fiction, you write your story and then you slice to the bone by taking out any word that can be cut. That includes most adverbs and adjectives speech tags and repeated words.

    For a general short story, there is no problem about a word limit unless the contest rules give one or your creation turns into a novel. -
    judith layne jerdé: I simply start writing. I don't usually have much of plan the storyline reveals itself to me along the way. Before I know it my short story has morphed in to a novella and I wonder what happened. Then the rewrites begin and by the time I finish I?m sick of the characters and just want to move on. I may need professional help or a life couch, not sure. I?ll let you know if I ever figure this writing thing out. Cheers
