Reading friends writing music

I have always loved reading, but was always trying to create a book. I tried making comics, novels, just anything that would last, that people would remember me for! But when my late Aunt Susie passed away, I broke down more. I was always living with anxiety and sadness, but when she was gone it became a little more prominent. She was the one that taught me about writing and literature, as she had always wanted to be one. But I always thought I would be a book writer, but here I am writing poems! I love to write my feelings out, or sing them. Angel knows I've tried to write songs, to no prevail. So poems became my sanctuary. I wrote a book of poems about my Aunt, I sent poems into competitions because I will try to get as much money as I can to save for NDSU. My poems have a sad feeling to them, I've been told. They can get heavy and are very thoughtful and deep. I myself am a open-minded atheist, as my church ed. teacher calls me. It's not that I don't believe in a higher power, I just feel that such a higher power doesn't care enough to help us out. I have written poems about church and faith, but not so much anymore. I don't do very well with funny or political poems, but I could do pretty well with joyful or happy. I'm super excited to get to writing and love what I've seen so far!
