mikesbabe21: I am Melissa's sister in law Crystal. I would help take care of her the past few years. I just wanted to thank you all for your kind words. I know Melissa's loved all of you. She would always read me her poems and poems others wrote on here. She had a great gift writing. I was not expecting the call we received that she passed. But we did know it was coming just not this soon. She was in so much pain all the time and since her last visit to the hospital she was so weak. I know now she is not in pain and is resting. Again thank you all for being there for her. - Crystal -

Sunshine will feel a little warmer
Smiles will go limp but only for a moment

You did what only you knew how

So much happier as I imagine
    You let loose in Heaven
Sporting your new pair of wings...

9999pool: On December 12, 2012, Melissa wrote this poem "I Want To Live" and this could be her last message to all of us which I paste here to shortcut the search. I also attached my Review comments to her (with some edit).

    "I Want to Live"

    If I pass away
    young please
    celebrate my
    life with glee

    I do fear my death
    will be painful for me
by all the pain I endure
    on a daily basis, although
I'm not done existing in this
    wacky world of ours

    My little sister, Tchinima
    Michele, died on May 2,
2003 at the mere age of
    twenty-nine caused by a
    botched gastric bypass,
    and she left behind her
    eight-year-old son for
    me to raise up along
    with my parents

    I'm bedridden because of
    my Cerebral Palsy, Lymphedema
    Elephantitis, Primary Pulmonary
    Hypertension, Irritable Bowel
    Syndrome, Migraines and many
    food allergies along with being
    lactose intolerant and eggs too.

    I digress, to stress
    I'm not depressed due
    to my writing and quirky
sense of being, for I am
    a rolling stone Dylan's
    singing about...

My review on her poem and what I would have wanted to say here:

In spite of all the ailments, the joy of writing and the reviews that came back, especially from Ritchiesszky, LOL. You know you are not alone.

Who does not fear death? Maybe me, if you have read my "IF....". I had intended to write a poem, just a few hours ago entitled "Hospital is another home" and the name already gave away what it is going to be about. No, I have no ailments at the moment but I cannot forget those who had.

Back to your review. If we let our days be filled with remorse or self-pity, it meant that life has stopped altogether.

The writing is a moving story and there was not a moment mentioned about giving up or getting out. It had stated the facts and did not asked for sympathy or consolation. It just bravely highlighted the positive aspects of rolling in life over harsh terrains and darkened alleys. The descriptive prose just flows out naturally. Excellent write, short and punchy. With a "quirky sense of being" life becomes more bearable but that does not mean the dread is gone - it just says "I Will Survive' - of Gloria Gayle's famed song. Cheers, Ritchiesszzky. -
Jen Gentry: This is not good-bye my friend. Just an until we meet again. May you find yourself surrounded by the most fragrant and beautiful flowers in the gardens of heaven. My heart breaks that you are gone from us but rejoices that you suffer on this earth no more~Jen -
Gary D. Hardy : I've not been on here on a regular bases for awhile and just read about Melissa. As many of you, I only knew her through her wacky and enjoyable poetry, but as a nurse, I have taken care of patients like her and know that she had many struggles and much pain. She will be sorely missed on here and in life, but as in one of her poems, she wanted her life celebrated. And in that tradition I'd like to toast a wonderful person and poet. May she entertain heaven as she has us with her famous flower garden. -
Jonez08: I'm just receiving the sad news of Melissa's death. She will be greatly missed. I will miss her beautiful work and colorful, detailed reviews. She has walked out of the pains and sorrows of this life and into everlasting peace and joy with our beloved Savior. Rest my friend. -

Doesn't bother me a bit- my poetry is bigger than my ego and poetry is what it is- an outlet, a cathartic way to discard uneasy feeling, a happy way to celebrate our joy and not only that, unless it is a specific form of poetry requiring rules to complete it, it IS THE ONE FORM of writing that gets poetic license. -

missy98writer: "I have had dreams and I have had nightmares, but I have conquered my nightmares because of my dreams." Ralph Waldo Emerson.

"Nothing happens unless first we dream." Carl Sandburg.

"Poetry is the journal of the sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air. Poetry is a search for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable. Poetry is a phantom script telling how rainbows are made and why they go away." Carl Sandburg.

missy98writer: I wish to toast in the 2012 with my fellow poets and writers.

missy98writer: Attention: I've been in the ER since 02/04/2011 until yesterday 02/11/2011. I aquired phnemonia from the flu. They had me intubated for four days. I'm very weak and trying to get better. They put me on oxygen until I beat my phnemonia. . .Melissa! -
    missy98writer: Update on health:
I'm muddling on and coughing out the phnemonia. I'm using 3 liters of oxygen at night until I get rid of this crud. I sat up on the side of my bed, I felt too weak to slide across a sliding board in my electric wheel chair. I have a Jazzy not a Hover-Around. You know Hover-Around, Miss Susan.

Charlene0513: To climb a mountain requires strength, determination and mostly character. To face the unknowns in life is to surrender your all and allow the grace of God to carry you
to a place of refuge and comfort.
I once wrote a poem entitled,
"I Believe". It brought peace to my life when I was about to go through brain surgery. Maybe as you face your adversities daily, this poem may also bring solace to your spirit.
    Luv, Charlene -

Above is a photo of me, my Mom, Roni and my deceased Great Aunt Grace. This photo was taken May 25, 1984 on the day I graduated high school from Edmond Memorial High School. Our school colors were maroon and gold. Go Bulldogs! By the way, my Mom still wears the same bufont hair do.

About Melissa:
she is a 44 year old female who loves to write. She has completed three other novels over the twenty plus years she has written. She loves romance, mystery, suspense, supernatural and fiction. She loves to write books she enjoys to read. She is physically disabled and recently diagnosed with Lymphedema and Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. She's had Cerebral Palsy since she was a baby that effects the right side of her body. In her writing she mixes writing styles and types. She helps raises her deceased sister, Tchinina Deibel's, son. Tchinina died on May 2, 2003 at the very young age of 29 from blood poisoning due to complications from a botched gastric bypass. She dedicates her novels to her deceased sister, Tchinina. I am working currently on 3 novels. I will post the chapters to each as I finish each chapter. The reviews help me write and keep the stories in my head. I allow my characters to help me write, sort of like a method actor, "method writing".

(4) "Romance is thinking about your significant other, when you are supposed to be thinking about something else."

(5) All things will be produced in superior quantity and quality, and with greater ease, when each man works at a single occupation, in accordance with his natural gifts, and at the right moment, without meddling with anything else." Plato.

(6) From 'Gone With the Wind':
"Lawzy, we got to have a doctor, I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies."
