laMont Flanagan: Dr. La Mont Flanagan has been teaching for approximately over a decade at the University of Maryland, Global. Professor Flanagan has taught several diverse criminal justice courses and has substantive practical experience in the area of Correctional Administration. He commenced his correctional career as a Director of a Division at the New York City Department of Corrections, Rikers Island, and honed his managerial skills as the Director of a Community Corrections Program in the state of Virginia. He subsequently served as Assistant Secretary of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, and Commissioner of Corrections for the Division of Pretrial Detention and Services. He also served as Deputy Director of Human Services for the District of Columbia. He is currently an Executive in a federal law enforcement agency. He has also authored several articles on diverse criminal justice topics, such as the female offender. He has conducted in-depth research for several years on violent juveniles, whom he referred to as the "HOPPERS", as a result of their propensity for embracing the HIP HOP culture. Profesor LaMont Flanagan is a member in good standing with the IAPWE or International Association of Professional Writers & Editors. He is currently working on the production of a Reality show about the challenging obstacles confronting life in the urban environment(the Hood) entitled "All or Nothing". The Trailer for the reality show has been selected for admission to several international film festivals. |
