    nor84: A work that combines more than one genre. For a good example, look at OUTLANDER by Diana Gabaldon. It combines the genres of Romance, Action Adventure, and Historical.

    Ordinarily, if you plan to publish, you want to stay with one genre. Bookstores shelve new books by genre: detective stores with others in the genre; romance with romance, etc. However, it worked for Diana. -

    Jannypan (Jan) : Not sure. I would type in something like list of male Irish names and see if either of these shows, maybe another will catch your eye. -
    nor84: neither of these names sound Irish to me. Lenny is short for Leonard and Douglas doesn't sound Irish. The Irish typically name their children after Catholic saints. For example, my maternal grandfather is named Patrick. The Irish for that is Padraic. So he would be Paddy for short. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. My mother, who was Catholic, named her son with a Catholic middle name: Anthony. You will also hear a lot of people named James or John. The short for James would be Jamie, and that doesn't sound very much like a leprechaun. Research Irish first names on the Internet or the names of saints. It may be that Leonard is the name of the Saint and if that is true Lenny would work but it doesn't sound Irish to me. You could send a PM to GiraffmanG, who is a member of fan story and lives in Northern Ireland. He might be able to help you. There are probably other members who live in Ireland or are of Irish descent. Another place to look is a book of baby names that might give you the origin of the name by country. One sister has the middle name Laurenthia because mother named her for St. Lawrence. Your best bet is to stay with the Saint names. There's also a book available online from an Amazon and I think also digitally called something like the character naming source book. it may also be available on eBay. -
