Scribbler67: It must be every aspiring writer's dream to have the perfect location in which to write, undisturbed by the goings on of everyday life. I have just that, although it doesn't always make the thought processes work any better. My muse has been known to slope off for days! My home is a very large residential caravan with an extension built on one side. This is my library/study/computer room. From there, when I'm searching for the right word or idea, I can look out of the big picture window and watch the wild birds on the feeders in the Black Alder tree across the garden. This is my haven. When I start getting 'screen eyes' I can put the computer on hibernate and wander round my large garden or sit on the garden seat and scribble. I sometimes wish I had someone to share it with, but I find such thoughts don't hang around too long. Perhaps I'm getting a little selfish as the years advance, but flashes of inspiration have to be caught and held tightly. As fellow writers I'm sure you understand. |
