Gladness: I am so excited!!! My book is published!! It will be available through Amazon and book stores by April, 2016.
My agent helped me get it ready and Gazelle publishing bought it!! Halleluiah!
It is called "The Zella Chronicles" by Anita Tosh
For a signed copy, find it now on ebay :)

Gladness: My appolagies. I have been rewriting and working on the book I just completed. I am blesses to have an agent to help me get this in shape for publication. Pray for me, this is a lot of work. Seems all the writing I do here are occational reviews and appoligies for being absent.
Hope you are all doing great. Happy holidays everyone and God bless.
adewpearl: Happy holidays to you, too, Anita :-) -
Imogen JH: Better to be aiming for goals in the real writing world than piddling around on here.

Good luck with the book. -

Gladness: Sorry I am kind of sporatic here. I am redoing the "Zella Chronicles" and don't suppose you want to re-read things already posted. I am happy if I have time to read your postings : )

Gladness: I will have to figure out how to take off the book shown "in Print". The company I self published with is out of business.
I am working on it and posting it here. Hope you like it.

Gladness: Sorry I have been absent for a while. Moving. My daughter and myself. The dust has settled. I am back in the saddle again. :) Looking forward to all that goes on here at fs.

Gladness: Now it is time for the waiting game. I am working on marketing and new book ideas while I wait to hear back from the agent.
Chrisfiore: Ah! The waiting game... meanwhile, keep at it. The reward is in the doing. ;) -

Gladness: I found a Christian Literary agent willing to review my work. Hallelujah! I will be busy putting together the package for him. Praise God!!
Linda Engel: very good, blessings to you -
Ben Colder : Glad for you. My blessing -
    Twilightspire: Congrats! -
Gladness: Thanks everyone! I finally got the package together and ready to mail. I am looking forward to hearing from him once he has read the manuscript. This is like big time fanstory :) I will be paying for him to read and give feedback....Is that where fanstory got the idea? -

Gladness: Thanks for the feedback on the book balloon. I hoped it would encourage people to read missed chapters, but, you are right, they are long. I will have to cut them into smaller chunks for my fanstory friends.

Gladness: So, I did the treasure chest book balloon on the last chapter. I have gotten some reviews on the last chapter, but not much on the second to the last, which I posted the same day. None on previous chapters, so far anyway.
nor84: The Treasure Chest only applies to the chapter you put it on, not to previous chapters or the ones that come later. -
michaelcahill: Hey guys. I checked. There's a "Book Balloon" on the whole book, so yes, all the chapters have points and a payoff. The chapters seem rather long. That may be a drawback in getting reviews. Most of the people are used to shorter chunks at a time. I write my early chapters at about a thousand words a post and then try to sneak them up a little higher if I'm getting a good response. It's difficult to get a response when the book as already well on its way like yours. People would have to go back to the beginning and that is hard to do timewise. Try to get new readers and do your promoting at the very beginning. mikey -
nor84: The problem with the book balloon is that people don't continue to read. I used it once, but it's expensive and I found it better to promote each chapter.

Yes, long chapters are a problem. Hard on the eyes unless someone has a very good monitor. And, of course, they take time to read that could be spent reviewing. A thousand to eleven hundred words a post does work better. -

Gladness: So, I did the treasure chest book balloon on the last chapter. I have gotten some reviews on the last chapter, but not much on the second to the last, which I posted the same day. None on previous chapters, so far anyway.

Gladness: Just waiting for proof reading before posting the last chapters of "Zella". Maybe I will try the treasure chest thing. Has anyone tried it that can tell me how it works? Will anyone really read the whole book?
nor84: It keeps your work available longer (see write-up) and also may give your reader a banner supreme of lucky leprechaun certificate. -
Gladness: Thanks, I'm giving it a try. -

Gladness: I am working on the last two chapters of "The Zella Chronicles" and began reading the book to my grand kids. We had to stop when company arrived. They asked several times to hear more , which really made me feel good : )

Gladness: I have yet to figure out how to squeeze in a writing time with my new work schedule. Pray for me.

Gladness: I got my first acceptance letter with a check from a magazine!!! Wooo Hoooo, so excited!! This is really encouraging, I've got to send out more of these things :D
    adewpearl: congratulations :-) -
    Twilightspire: That's awesome, congrats! -
    flippant: So cool!! Congrats!
    -
redrider6612: Now that is worth more than all the 6 stars and All Time Best ribbons and FS contest wins combined. -
Eigle Rull: Congratulations young lady.I couldn't be happier for you. -
Gladness: Thank you everyone!!! I don't know if I would have tried without your encouragement. Thanks!! -
krys123: I just finished reading your profile and I would like to congratulate your on your book signing. You have a good one in God bless.
    AK -
MissMerri: Wow! I am so happy for you! There is nothing quite as motivating as a check in the mail! Keep sending. Warm hugs, MM -

Gladness: I love all the reading and reviewing, now I've got to get down to some writing :)

Gladness: Wow, I finally placed in a contest, Praise the Lord!
DIS-illusioned: What 'place', as dead-last is still a 'place'? Thank Jesus, all the same. -
Gladness: lol, I've placed in the nether regions plenty enough times. No, this time I was third place, so I get a ribbon for "A Step Away" :) -
Joannforsberg: How beautiful and wonderful... blessings, Jo -

Gladness: I hope my computer will co-operate long enough for me to get some things posted. Been trying to for days.

Gladness: This site has helped me be consistent with my writing. It helps me look forward to it everyday and keep up the momentum.

Gladness: After three or four revisions, "Broken People" is posted, at last.

Gladness: My first "Recognized" status! Yahoo!! Vampire's Night made it :)

Gladness: Hurray! It's finally posted! : ) Wish me luck.

Gladness: After several drafts and revisions, I think my "vampire" story is finally ready. One last proof reading and we'll go for it. Contest deadline is still about a week or so away.

Gladness: Just one more note about the books I mentioned, they are great no matter what you like to write. Doesn't have to be for the young. Writing is writing, after all, and the basic rules are the same.

Gladness: I have finished reading "A Sense of Wonder" by Katherine Paterson. The book front says "on Reading and Writing Books for Children" I am feeling that this is more and more the direction I am going. From preschool to Young Adult, but I'm still finding out what works best for me. Now I'm reading "Writing for Children & Teenagers" by Lee Wyndham and getting invaluable information. Thank you,Jesus, for these books!
purrfect tale: I've always admired people who can write for children. You have the same challenges as writing for adults, but then must remember the right vocabulary for your target age group. Don't think I could do it. -
Gladness: Thank you, purrfect tale, for you comment. I'm finding there are many things to remember that are specific for each age group. Still testing the waters, and hoping to fall into the right pool. -

Gladness: How's this for a pen name? After all, the good book says, "serve the Lord with gladness." : )
rama devi: Love your pen name! :-)) -

Gladness: Almost Friday. I have a different schedule starting tomorrow. Hope to have more time for writing.

Gladness: Hope you all had a great week end. This is my honey's Birthday week: We drove up to the lake Saturday, have dinner tonight with friends, and dinner with the family tomorrow night, and, of course, Birthday cake. Cheers!

Gladness: Had a great time this morning in the Teen Sunday School class. We put together and performed the story of Creation for the younger classes. Had a blast. Hope you all are having a great day! God Bless you!
Selina Stambi: Lovely to meet another lover of the Word on this site! -
