seashellrees4: I'm heading for the Printer's Row Lit Fest in Chicago on June 8th & 9th! It's two days, outdoors and takes up a city block. I'm hoping to sell a lot of books! :)


seashellrees4: My new children's book, Princess Courtney and the Magic Suit, is now being sold through Chaney's Dairy Barn in there novelty section in Bowling Green, Ky. I'm excited!


seashellrees4: Exciting news for me! I just won pick 3 lottery for $800. Woohoo! In addition. The poetry contest I entered and won $100.00 for 3rd place will be publish in the Mid-Continent Review. Out of all the entries/winners it was the only one selected to be published! I am stirrin' it up

seashellrees4: Just published a new book! Tales with a Twist & Tales Totally Twisted. It's a collection of short stories and poems that tell a story.
    purrfect tale: Having somewhat of an idea on how your mind works, GREAT TITLE! -


seashellrees4: I am in agony! I love creative writing, but I don't like writing THESIS PAPERS FOR HOMEWORK! AARRGGG!!! Nothing like writing a 10 page boring paper on Communication. It's too bad I just can't be creative with it, I have to summarize three chapters from the book! Ugh!

seashellrees4: I just got back from the Author's event at the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse in Tomkinsville, Ky. It was their first time holding the event and I thought they did a great job. It wasn't over flowing with book buyers, but I think all the authors who were there sold a few. Two of my books sold, High Seas: The Cabin Boy and High Seas: A Matter of Blood. Several asked if they were available as ebooks. So Hopefully, I'll see some sold that way. My mother's book Beauregard Blue sold some copies also! Way to go Mom!
I'll definitely attend next year. It was a good time!
    purrfect tale: Marketing tip! First, you become an Amazon affiliate on your blog/site so you get a piece of book sales. Then when you go to events you take a lap top with you and sell them the ebook right there. Once they get home, they came download the prepaid ebook to their Kindle. You get the sales percentage plus the extra affiliate percentage. Minus my percentage for telling you about this. -
    seashellrees4: lol. I thought about bringing my laptop, but wasn't sure if I'd get internet reception in that rural area. Just put your percentage on my tab. I think I'm running up quite a bill. :) -


seashellrees4: I just got back from a book signing at the Pulaski Co library. There were about 10 local authors. No customers showed up. Did sell a couple of books to one of other authors though. Hopefully I'll have better luck in Tompkinsville, ky on Saturday.


seashellrees4: Well, I got my feed back from the pitchfest. But I got the standard line - Very exciting story, but not right for us at this time. Well, as I wrote in one of my poems, "Where God closes doors, somewhere He opens a window." I've just got to find that window! :)
    purrfect tale: You mean I can't go to the movie, stand up in the middle of the theater and yell, "I know the author!" Rats! It was your 1st movie pitch, so count it as a practice run. -
    seashellrees4: lol. I was hoping you could do that very thing. But there is always another day, and as Scarlett O'Hara said. "I'll think about it tomorrow!" :) -


seashellrees4: I just returned from Las Vegas and the pitchfest convention. There were 150 authors there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my book, High Seas: A Matter of Blood gets optioned for a movie. The two best pitches from the convention gets to do another pitch before Meridith Vera for her production company via Skype. But whether I'm chosen for that or not, I'm hoping one of the others is interested.
    Lady & Louis: I misread that as 'pitchfork' convention at first! :D -


seashellrees4: I entered one of my poems in Mid-Continent University's writing competition in the poetry division. I took 3rd Place and one $100.00 for The Poet's Moon. I've listed it in my portfolio as Under the Poet's Moon. First real money I've won from my writing!


seashellrees4: My excitement and nervousness is building. I will be going to a Pitchfest in Las Vegas to pitch my book High Seas: A Matter of Blood to film. I have to reduce an over 200,000 word novel into a 2 minute, mind blowing pitch! Talk about pressure!
