Gungalo: Today, with the help of FanStory upgrades, we light the eternal flame in honor of our Gungalo. This will allow for all her writings to continue to be read. Anytime we miss her we can just visit her page and read for hours.

We are so very touched by all the beautiful tributes, wonderful stories and references that we've all come to know and love about our Gungalo. Poetry was her passion and her friends here enhanced the experience. In her own words, "Touching friends has made me so much richer and the worth of such an experience is my bank."

    Dean Kuch: If ever there was a noble thing a website has done for one of its greatest contributors, the Eternal Flame has to be one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. So fitting that Pam (Gungalo) should be honored in this way. She truly was an amazing talent when it came to poetry, particularly those which told of love, romance and passion. But more than that, she was a loving, caring and giving human being. Truly one of God's shining stars.

    It's wonderful to know that her words here will forever be preserved, and her poetic legacy, through her fabulous poetic expression, can live on.

    Kingsrookviii: I am very grateful for the eternal flame in Gungalo's honor. Her passing saddens me much, yet I hope to meet her in another realm(heaven). I have considered Maureen and her my two biggest influences on this site or rather, two that stand out among many. However, it was Gungalo's style I attempted to mimic and use as my benchmark. I've dug deep into her archives today. Now, I miss her all the more. I do not understand the emptiness I feel in a place she occupied, since I never considered her absence.     chasdflynn: Wow!! I have not been on the fanstory site for some months now. I lost a friend yesterday and visited to read and reflect on a good buddy. The first person I visited was one of only 15 people that always followed me and kept me writing, Gungalo. I am shocked Pam is gone and saddened. Her loss to those close to her must be devastating, as a tsunami hits the closest shore with the most impact and devastation. I am but a distant shore in her life, half way around the world and yet the tsunami of her passing hit me like a very high wave! I can only offer this tribute to her and to those close to her. She made a positive impact and was felt through her writing and her kinds words, as far as they travelled. I miss her and her words to me, selfish I know, but that is the only way I knew her! God speed and her words of love and trust will live forever. Memories are like roses in December, fresh, gorgeous and alive!! -

    Many of us may have lost close touch
    over the demise of Ol' Blue and The Inkwell,
    but we are all fine present and former poet friends
    who have now lost a most talented and revered poet friend.

    May she remain in our hearts and take up her pen
    in the Great Beyond to join our other loved
    Colleagues who have moved on.

    elgone: A few years ago I joined Fan Story. Pam was one of my first fans and in turn I became one of he legion of followers. She wrote beautiful prose as well as poetry. Maybe some of you did not know that because her first love was always her husband and soulmate but her second was writing in verse. She knew everything there is to know about poetry, it seemed, all forms and structures. She inspired me, a proser, to wax poetic at times with some success. She also critiqued my writing in a highly professional way. She told me what she liked and didn't like. She loved happy endings, for example. I had to change a couple of things here and there in order to suit her tastes but it turned out she was right. It make my novels stronger to write with a heart as well as with my soul.

    You are missed, my dear poetess. But I know your story finally has the happiest of all endings as you are an angel singing your verses to entertain the heavenly choirs. Although the loss of any artist such as you is severe for the world, our loss is truly Heaven's gain. May the words you have left as your legacy continue to inspire others to love one another and live life to its fullest.

    LYLE: Here is a toast to a Lady that we shall all miss. Her poetry, her reviews, her comments are with us. She has now become an absent friend, but never a forgotten one. My sympathy goes to her family for their loss, and to us, also.
