lgm859: I really did not want to make any waves or hurt anyone's feelings or worse. I am not saying my poems are "Great" or "The Best." I always believe that Poems are reflections of a person feelings, their own personal emotions, their inner thoughts, their life's experiences and what they have observed with their own eyes. I try my best to read every poem objectively. I try to use my imagination, looked for a commonality and/or feeling the emotions the person want to say.
    noland: Some reviewers are just plain nasty and tactless, possibly because someone has treated them this way, or else that's just the way they are. I have had to mute a very well-respected writer who just doesn't like my kind of writing and can't be objective. They also can't take diplomatic and constructive suggestions. (Think they're perfect and beyond improvement.) If I can't give a positive review or think of any suggestions that will help, I skip reviewing the work. -
    lgm859: I have noticed that some people have difficulty being nice. But, it doesn't matter for I will still be nice to that particular person. That is the best way, if one cannot give a positive review, then just Skip. Thank you for sharing. -

lgm859: Will someone please explain to me. I am having difficulty understanding why this certain member keep downing my poems. Best anyone can do in reviewing anyones poem is to make comments about the content (if understandable or not), grammar and punctuations.

Not to leave cruel, uninspiring and negative remarks to discourage anyone from writing. Not to hurt anyone's feelings. People do find solace and healing from writing their poems. Do not be Judgemental or even the Jury and hurt peoples feelings.

No person is a perfect writer and everyone's perscepton of anything will be very different.

I understand a person is entitled to their own opinions. But I believe if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say a thing. If the person doesn't like what I write then just SKIP my poems.
    EXMAN. nffc: I just popped in to see if we'd met. Your issue here is an easy one to solve. Just mute that person and they won't be able to review you anymore. What I would also invite you to do is to pop inot the reviewing forum. You'll find the forums under the community tab. Post this question there and the regulars will be able to give you a lot of advice about how best to deal with this issue. Spend some time there and you will find your F.S experience will be greatly improved. -

    PhoenixSun: We ALL get bad reviews. I hate it..You hate it. Welcome to the club? But you must understand that when people review your stuff, there is a bell shaped curve...those who hate it absolutley and those who completely love it on the other end.

    This site can not distinguish (I had to look up that word), between those type of reviewers. (Oh I wish they could!)

    That's why writers stick together and help each other out. I like what you write... but even if I didn't... I wouldn't tear you apart. We need to stick together! And that is what this site is rally supposed to be about. I'm always here. We're always here.

    Good writing... keep it up!

    mrsmajor: Writing is such a personal thing, and all reviewers don't approach a piece, with that in mind.
    I can only say, don't let anyone change your manner of putting pen to paper, write from your heart what you feel as you feel it. If you get a good review be gracious with your thanks, as it is a woderful feeling when someone enjoys what you have written, if you feel someone is being constantly cruel, or
    negative of your writing, do as I did, mute
    them...I have done it, and now I am not concerned about that person. There will be times that a writer will try to help in reviewing you pieces, you will know the difference.

    Enjoy the site, write from your heart, there is always going to be a person that will give you the stars and support you deserve. There are some very good writers here that are comfortable with their abilities and are very glad to help anyone that they can.
    Ignore the others.

lgm859: I have a book that I self published on Lulu.com. The title of the book: "Expressions from the Heart" by Ms. Lucille G Medeiros. This book is sold on Lulu.com and Amazon.com. Some of the poems I have posted on FanStory.com is from that book, a couple of the poems are from my 2nd or 3rd manuscripts and there is a couple of the poems I have just written to enter the specific contests.
