JimmytheStone: Today is another day. I'm back here to see what others are doing, I'm mostly reading poetry because it's new. And as humans we are fascinated by new things. Not that I pretend to know the subject, but to immerse myself in the art form that seems to be produced. I love the imagination that is used by some authors. Not so much with the verse, because after centuries of poetry verse has been reduced in flavor, it's the artful package, the imagery, and use of color that I'm noticing. All this is kind of odd considering I'm a hardhat wearing, uneducated, construction worker. And my work here is dark and antagonistic. Jimmy |

JimmytheStone: Hi I'm Jimmy: I've been reading and sharing here at Fan Story for the past few days. I'm disappointed in the star envy here, it's like grade school, and needing approval. I was ecstatic by a reviewer who gave me two stars but high praise for the body, and helpful hints on the parts they hated. Every bit as much as the ones who gave me five stars for the same piece. Because the two star review was from the heart. I could care less if you love my point of view or hate it here, this is school for me. (As many of my reviewers have stated, my subject can be controversial.) I'm interested in improving my skills, not sucking up to the teacher. Some of the writers here have amazing talent, I'd like to think that five stars are for those on there way to glory. A lower star count, while it hurts gives rise to creativity, and a desire to improve. Whereas if I receive five stars I will tend to think of myself in inflated terms, and then go nowhere. If you ask me, I love my work. But then if it's so good, why isn't it on the shelves at Barnes and Noble. That's why I'm here. So go ahead, tell me what's wrong. Not only can I take it, I embrace it. |

After close to 7 years (10/04) I have met some great people, and also found my place here on the site..You will too, it won't be long before you are comfortable and know your way around...Write, Write, Write, the more you do the better you will become, stars are just that stars....don't become fascinated by them, you sound as though you know what you want, you will meet your goal, I can tell.. Again, I wish you well.. Warmly, Victoria - | ||

JimmytheStone: I am interested currently in alternative historical fiction; I've never been thrilled with the history books as written. Or the interpretations of the bible for that matter. I've never encountered the truth in anyone's spin on that book. I love fiction that makes sense, unlike the "Non-Fiction" that I'm supposed to believe. Kind of like what Samuel Clemons once said, but I'm paraphrasing. Anyway I'm Jimmy, and I've written quite a lot in the past few years, and I'm here to share it with anyone who's interested. |
