"Having a family is like having a bowling alley installed in your head."
- Martin Mull

a1940sFan is a former Assistant Director of MidAmerica Playwrights Theatre and author of over 15 produced plays, one novel (yet unpublished) and a bunch of short stories. She loves to read, write and go to the beach!

She has a cat who is a total dictator and rules the house with a velvet paw. Her name is Rhue but everyone calls her Rooster. She acts as a paperweight by plopping down on 1940sFan's notes next to the computer when she attempts to write. If asked to move she pretends to be asleep.

Has a passel of favorite authors, but super favorites include:

Janet Evanovich - Stephanie Plum series
J.A. Konrath - a Chicago author who writes mysteries featuring detective Jack (Jacqueline) Daniels
James Rollins - super thrillers!
Michael Perry - absolutely in love with his writing - Truck, A Love Story and Population: 485
John Warner - this guy is the funniest! Pick up his book Fondling Your Muse - very, very funny
Lee Child - Suspense/mystery - writes about a guy by the name of Jack Reacher - good stuff
James Patterson - especially his Women's Murder Club novels

There are tons more, but she won't bore you with the list. She reads just about anything that either scares the p..p out of her, makes her laugh, or is just darn well written.

The First Day of Summer was the second place winner in the contest Summertime Story.

Daddy Cat Will Get You was the third place winner in the contest Halloween Horror.
