Winslow: Dear Member Fanstorians,

I will not be posting or reviewing much in the coming months. I am studying French with Rosetta Stone right now so it is occupying a lot of my time. I wish everyone who reads this have a great rest of spring, the best season of the year.

Auvoir,

Winslow (aka Skymaster)
waihekebach: How exciting for you. I won't know what on earth you are talking about. Envious, I am, French is a beautiful language. Enjoy. -
Carolyn 12: So how did it work? I have read about the Rosetta Stone but have not known of anyone who has used it. I love French and have a friend who came to the US last year as a new citizen. She will teach me but would like to learn alot on my own as well. -
Jane Johnson: I went to Paris in February 2011. I had lived south of Paris as a child for a couple years. I found the house we lived in in St. Genevieve Du Bois and I was ecstatic! I have enough words to pull me through the visit, but not conversational really. Europe stole my heart and it is still there. My dream is to go back and spend more time. Good luck with Rosetta Stone. Over there, it is music in the air! -
Jane Johnson: I guess I forgot to tell you I love Stillwater, Minnesota. I lived in Little Canada for a couple years. It was a nice area. Lots to do, but Stillwater was really cool! -
garrymc5: Reply to above note. Hope Rosetta Stone has visited Figaec, where the RS was deciphered (and there's also a musee of the parole/ world languages. garrymc5 -
Kaine Darcwater: When you told me to re-write my entire posted story, and asked if I understood what you meant in your shown description, I didn't understand. No one else seems to have a problem with it the way it is. I'd try your suggestion if I understood it better. -
    Joy Graham: Bonne chance! -
livelylinda: Winslow: I reread your "horror" story. Once again I say that I didn't feel the horror. It is an adventure filled with lots of detail but held nothing new/original/fresh/creative in its content. I've seen TV movies just about like this. It did not stand out in any way and I wasn't horrified. Maybe too much about fish in the opening paragraph deluded the mood of horror. It is an adventure. I read many poems and stories on this site. Some make me cry/sad/gleeful/laugh out loud. I have no problem feeling, in general. This seemed almost a documentary; facts, Jack. The howling of the ever-present wild animals became redundant. I would suggest less detail in the fishing scene, less detail about how he stood up (from the ground to all fours then standing) and more details about how he must have felt while wet/cold/alone in a woods full of wild animals. I think I didn't feel this guy because you didn't put feeling in him which leads me to believe that you are not a man who is in touch with most of your feelings, perhaps . . . but, then, I am only one person complete with 66 years of likes and dislikes. Your style of writing would have pleased my grandfather. And, for your information, I do not write to attempt to fool anyone. I write what I see/feel/what moves me. If someone likes it, great! If someone doesn't, o.k., I need to fix something or maybe our styles are different. We will both keep writing our way and that is what makes the world go around! Linda -
Spitfire: Sounds fascinating. I hope you write about it. -
karenina: Ah, was it something I said? I have only just returned after eight years away! Enjoy those fine lessons!--Karenina -

Winslow: I want to wish everyone on Fanstory a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. May at least some of your dreams come to fruition, may you never have writer's block, and may some of your writings get published.

Warmest regards,

Winslow
bard owl: Thank you for the good wishes. And Best Wishes for the happiest of new years to you, Winslow. Blessings, Linda the bard owl -
    stephonavich: Winslow,
My teacher, Les, told me that good writers borrow. Great writers steal. He insisted I steal his idea for a passage in my story. Since then, I have learned from his teachings. You gave it to me, I stole it. Thanks! *giggles down the hall* -
Mountainstar2: I wish you the very best in life. I miss you. Come back soon...MS2.. -
    Winslow: Dear Fanstorians,

We are off to France this afternoon. I apologize to all the reviewers I haven't responded to yet. I will respond when we return. August 8th.

    Merci,

    Louie -
    Winslow: Dear Fanstorians,

I wish everyone on this site a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May God guide your pen in the coming year, may you be inspired to write with passion, with grace, let your mind listen to your muse, for he/she represents your true voice. Pray for peace in the World, let it come into your heart, for we are all brothers and sisters even though we seem different, for down deep we are not.

    Warmest regards,

    Winslow -

Winslow is a person who enjoys reading and writing. Once a chemist, now retired, no longer constrained by truth or technology. Free to write in any genre, what a blast! Still a sculpted body but alas one quite old. Outdoor activities such as biking and hunting hold his interest. He loves to cook and enjoys wine and good food. Travel is held in high esteem, he has seen some of Europe and South America. German and Spanish he speaks a little, just enough to entice the natives.
