    michaelcahill: It's a huge problem for a married couple. Only a fellow writer really understands another writer. I love my wife and she supports me, but she doesn't understand what this "writing thing" is. The people here do. Indeed, this is the only place I have ever been in my life where I actually fit in. Don't expect your husband to understand. Like nor84 says, Don't show it to him. It is not excluding him or cutting him out. It is just something that he won't get. Don't try and make him get it or feel bad because he doesn't. -
    adewpearl: Having a husband who "doesn't get it" is a far cry from having one who "goes into a rage" over discussing word choice. I know absolutely nothing about your husband or your marriage other than what you just said in a couple of lines, but it sounds to me like something is going on that shouldn't just be dismissed as "many spouses don't get a writer's writing." -
