I belonged to a fantastic writers group in southern Oregon, but after two moves, it has been a struggle to get a good one organized. I have not been writing for the past few years and thought this site might be the encouragement I need to get started again. That said, I?ve found that I?ve spent a lot of time here reading poetry which I never had an interest in. I?m finding it fascinating and it has been a challenge to understand some of it. I hope I don?t offend any of you poets when I say, ?I don?t get it.? I really do admire your work and imagination.
I have mostly written creative non-fiction. I?ve self published two books of personal essays. The first one, ?Animals and Their People,? and the second, ?As I See It,? is about the happenings of every day life. I say, if you can?t relate to any of the stories in this book, you need to get out more.
I hope joining this group has the desired result of getting me back to the craft.
