Well your life continued to be full and seemingly very enjoyable. The nose surgery must have been a huge step for Carol and now the other children hoping for the same. The trip sounds like the perfect choice that Carol made and a wonderful time together.
Moving to a new school would be a bit traumatic at first but as young people are wont to be, it wouldn't take long for them to make friends. That would be a new adventure.

I think you have about caught up. Thanks for reading and reviewing the past chapters. Carol took the nose surgery in stride. I think she did it because he dad seemed to want her too. Looks never mattered much to Carol.

BethShelby I enjoyed reading reading this chapter of your book, Remembering Yesterday. From what I read your vacation with all your children in Colorado was fun. I'm sure your book will be well appreciated, in future years bringing back so many memories.

You certainly built beautiful memories with your children! I'm impressed that your husband went along with the camping trip without a set plan first. It seems to all have worked out and Carol enjoyed living out her John Denver dream. I still am shocked to hear about the nose surgeries. With your singing children, didn't anyone say it could affect their vocal sound?

Thank you so much for the review and comments. As for as the voices, no one mention it could change the. Their voice all improved with time so maybe the surgery actually helped.

Lived in Colorado so this was interesting to read.

P2 - just like siblings, one gets something they all want it

P11 - interesting way to decide how to go to Colorado

P14 - camping in rest areas. Fond memories of something too risky to do these days

P15 - Estes Park,outside Denver. Been there.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Actually earlier camping was dangerous as well. In the mid seventies, a lot of new well lighted and well guarded parks were available.

This was a good story. It had a wonderful descriptive imagery and visuals. Excellent narrative. I also liked your artistic presentation and that bolded font, which was good for these eyes (smile). Your visuals were so great I felt like I was a part of that trip to the mountains. Amazing artwork which compliments the story.

Another very interesting chapter in the life of your growing family. I had no idea that your kids (at least the older ones) got teased about their noses. It must have been a relief for them, to have the surgery. I hope it ultimately went well for all three of them who would have it. It's good that the surgery was possible in those times.

Some suggestions. Sometimes the was/were distinction is a little tricky, and I hope my suggestions are correct here:

I liked your discussion of your role vs. your husband's, as wage earners. You really worked as a team, in life. And your family vacation sounds so wonderful!

I missed a chapter, which I would like to review soon.

Thank you so much for the delightful review and help that only you see to be about to do. I love the six stars. I don't the kids would have worried about their noses if my husband hadn't had a sensitivity about his own. Carol was the only one who was teased and it really didn't bother her. The kids weren't being malicious and she think she enjoyed the teasing. Her straight nose really did help her looks though. She was happy with it. I enjoyed all your comments and I've fixed the errors you found.

You're very welcome, Beth, and it's a pleasure, as always. I would love to see a photo of your family sometime -- especially Carol with her straight nose! It's hard to imagine that a girl could actually enjoy being teased, but I guess it's possible, if she was very secure and comfortable with who she was. I'm glad it all worked out.
God bless you all. - Mary Kay xoxo

Dear Beth, did you realize that you have written a whole chapter with not one single disaster. I think I would title this your happy chapter. I wanted to ask, if despite all of the rhinoplasty for your children, your husband's big nose emerged in the next generation?

Actually yes, my oldest granddaughter has a slight hook to her nose, but she is a pretty girl and doesn't seem concerned about it. It looks a little like a Farrah Faucet nose and no one has mentioned a nose job. My husband was just a little too sensitive. I liked his nose. Thanks for the review. I have look harder for the disasters in future chapters. LOL

I'm so glad this family vacation worked out better than the last one. Colorado is beautiful. I panned for gold, didn't get anything, but fools gold, but it was fun trying. Your story is well-written, very interesting. I look forward to reading more.

This was a most interesting chapter. Good reading as well. Looks like the Colorado vacation turned out the best choice! Thanks to your daughter and the short straw or match. A couple of things to look at. Background comment too long, ran out. T[H](h)e older children

It's such a blessing to have happy family memories of holidays spent travelling together - a treasure trove for the children to share, in time, with their own families
