I envy those writers who do keep a journal "account of all [their] days." I imagine it would be hard to keep one these days when our lives are so limited by the pandemic. But indeed one's words would live on.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. I confess that my own journaling is often of the back-a-paper-napkin, but I do have good intentions and fragments of journals to show for them.

Hello Mary
I trust that you are well.
This is very creative work in such a cramped space. There's rhyme and rhythm, and 'meaning' - and if that is one of your own watercolours, well, that caps it off nicely.
I think the age of the private journal has passed us by. We now have the public 'blog' were people tend to write because they wish to be read, rather than because they wish to assemble and order their inner-thoughts. Still, there may yet be some among us with the discipline and creative spirt to leave a record of who they were, and, in doing so, a record of what our time was. Let us hope that they are kind to our intentions.
I wish you well and trust that all is good in your world.
cheers
phill

Thanks so much for always being there, Phil. I confess, I?m not so tidy as this poem seems to suggest. Anyone who wants to assemble my written thoughts after I?m gone will have his work cut out for him. Note the masculine pronouns. I wish we?d never moved on to ?he/she?; ?him/her.? Stay safe and well.
    Mary

A very well-written twenty-word poem about keeping a daily journal with words if praise and positivity and let your legacy live on for generations to come.

Good advice in the twenty words allowed and, when read out aloud, these have a pleasant rhythm, not to mention a couple of good rhymes into the bargain.

A beautifully penned poem on the joys and benefits of journaling, dear Mary.

One small recommendation, if I may. This font is very difficult to read, especially for the vision challenged. I had to call for a high powered magnifying glass. I hope this is helpful.

Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the contest
