A desire all writers must have. I know when I finish a piece it is like my baby. I never had children, but I look at my writing like a mother looks at a child and I smile with pride. Thank you for reminding me how much I enjoy writing.

Mary, this is a very uplifting poem. We need your reminder to be kind and encouraging with our words. Lately and too often, words are used like switchblades. But these cross words will not be remembered. I'm sad to read so many poems that bludgeon character and motive. We also need to account for our words! Good luck in the contest!
