Very descriptive "Ode to Winter"! Title is very creative and picture depicts a nice situation born from winter and its "treats". Red points in the picture provides colourful touches to the cold scenery. It was taken at the very precise moment!

    I love the colour of persimmons.....( kachi, kaki )

    My parents loved the taste. ... always argueing over the last one at meal times. ( biggrin).

    I love the photo too... I was confident it would reach the podium but I was wrong ..

    I still think it's one of my best entries though.

    Hello Tempeste! Let me say that the qualification at the top of your poem is still "EXCEPTIONAL" with six stars!!! What I think is that contest valuate different things from authors, and it is always good to have other point of view. But your vision as Author is greatly important. And if you think it is one of your best entries, it definitively is! This feeling you feel inside will give the force to write even better and better!! Go ahead!

I envy you guys over there seeing such wildlife on your doorstep. In England we have to visit parks to see such sights. Your ambient write reminds me how the wildlife survive by eating these berries, love Dolly x

    They do eat berries too but this particular fruit is called ...persimmon ...in English ..

    My parents loved them .. always fighting over the last one( biggrin)

    Good thing I don?t like the taste but I do love the sunset colour ( when they are truly ripe)

    For the wildlife struggling in winter these fruits are life savers ..

This is an excellent haiku poem. You kept with the original concept of a haiku poem writing about nature. My favorite line is ~ manna from heaven. Yes. God had created the So perfect that he feeds his precious animals. Thank you for this wonderful poem. Good luck to you in your future writing.
