Such a beautiful poem, harkening back to days of old and possibly a land of your heritage? So glad you got to make this trip, one I've longed for. Had family way back from Cornwall. Would love to see it. Your poem resonates with me. Thanks for sharing ;)

I enjoyed your poem! It had an easy to read flow, and I enjoyed the descriptions.
I also love English history, both fictional and true! 'Cornwall' reminds me of Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon, where king Arthur's mother lived in Cornwall.
And don't even get me started on King Henry VIII... let's just say that visiting England is on my bucket list :)

I love this picture of a castle nestled among countryside. Now I know the beauty of Cornwall. This scenery looks like a castle we like to go in the southern Germany. It belongs to my sister-in-law's family. We went last summer, the third time. We ride bicycles around and ate a lot of cherries from the cherry trees. We had to cancel our trip to Europe this summer, too.
Let's hope we can go next year. I have been to London, Wimbledon, and Royal Military Music School.

Thank you Lisa for this wonderful review. So pleased that you liked it. I have a German heritage but have never been there. It is on my bucket list.
Hope this whole pandemic goes away and we can get back to living as we would like.

What a lovely poem! You make the reader see the beauty of the land, but also the loneliness that may come. The green background continues the green view you are seeing. Your first stanza is my favorite, as it makes me feel as if I can see what you are describing.
Wonderful write:)

That was the most amazing poetic journey. It invited the reader, with your beautiful words, to travel to Cornwall in autumn and submerge in its beauty. Amazing imagery, visuals, metaphors and about every poetic device that makes poetry beautiful.

Excellent descriptive imagery:

The hedgerows cross the hills, then cross again,
dividing fields with heavy underbrush.
A labyrinth-like path leads to a glen
where moss and lichens flourish wild and lush.

What a lovely poem. Thank you for sharing.

What a difference a year makes. I'm so happy for you and congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Our 45th is this December. A beautifully penned and illustrated poem. Cornwall sure looks good to me.
Sending you my best today as always,

This poem and its excellent use of language evokes the particular landscape of the English countryside of Cornwall and its environs - with a melange of history and myth

I'm really glad you got to see Cornwall, it's my favourite place in all England, and fortunately we only live two hours drive away, so we get to go a lot. It's like stepping back in time. I love your, it describes perfectly the whole mystic atmosphere of that great county. Well done, and I hope one day you'll come again and I get to meet you for a traditional cream tea. :)) Sandra xx

I too hope we get to come again and I will surely let you know. It would be wonderful to meet for a traditional cream tea. I ordered tea and scones several time. Some were so very good - just like I had imagined.

You executed this sonnet perfectly and it was a joy to read. Great job with the description and I also enjoyed reading your notes. Life really has changed in the last seven months - I'd be scared to get on an airplane now. Hugs, Lou
