'You know Chance is like a stray dog that shows up unexpectedly on your front porch and never does anything till he's good and ready.' (Loved that character type description!)
Wow! They are very up front about their backstabbing. I hope there is far more to Chance than meets the eye. I suspect there is- he is the one that got the plans to a bank.

I laughed reading this sentence. Stackhouse replied in a testy tone, "Shove the guacamole up your nose sideways, deuchebag. I told you when I got out of that pickle suit we used to wear back in the day, I'd never shave again.." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the novel.

Well, this looks like a real crime story. I like to find a character that I can relate to and actually like. It is hard to pick one of these. Hopefully there will be some more choices along the way. Nicely written but it sounds brutal.

Wow -- I believe cold-blooded would be a bit too good for this Stackhouse guy... ugh. Doesn't sound like a trustworthy bunch to be in cahoots with as they/he just might shoot you to increase his take 'just because'.... yikes! Thanx for sharing and look forward to the next! ;) Yvette

Good beginning and suspenseful ending. I enjoyed your dialogue, though they were very genuine. Could work on your metaphors, especially his beard. OFF to a good start very entertaining.

Seldom can I manage to keep my last six all week for that one well written, character driven post. But this week, tag you're it. To me, characters always make the story, everything else is simply what the characters do. Thanks for sharing.
